À propos de cet hébergement
Archway House - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
Archway House enjoys a peaceful location within the idyllic Cotswold village of Blockley. Comprising two former mill cottages joined together, this mid-terrace dog friendly, 4-storey property benefits from a tranquil location in landscaped gardens, complete with a soothing stream. Leaded light, shuttered windows; wooden floors; classic and tasteful furnishings; and exposed beams are just a few of the characterful features, along with 21st century comfort, luxurious bed linens and a welcoming stylish decor.
Enter through the pretty front garden into the stunning kitchen, boasting a perfect blend of contemporary and traditional, where an impressive range oven and high-spec appliances await. The reception rooms are upstairs on the first floor and include a pretty sitting room with a Smart television and ample comfy seating; and a cosy dining room where the roaring wood burning stove awaits during the cooler months. Up to the second floor, bedroom two has a double bed with en-suite shower room. The family bathroom is also located on the second floor and has separate access up to the principle bedroom on the top floor, with its king-size bed.
Outside, you can follow the sunshine and choose between the paved terrace to the front of the property, with garden furniture and a charcoal barbecue in warmer months; or wander around to the walled courtyard at the rear with lovely views of the communal landscaped gardens including a trickling stream.
Blockley's beautiful church, churchyard and vicarage are used for the filming of "Father Brown", a popular period BBC detective drama. The village boasts many other historic buildings including a converted water mill along the brook; a fabulous community run café and well stocked shop; and two pubs within walking distance. Also nearby are the popular hotspots of Stow-on-the-Wold, Broadway and Bourton-on-the-Water. Blockley is a delightful golden stone village, situated within the rolling hills of the North Cotswolds between Moreton-in-Marsh (with direct rail links to London Paddington) and Chipping Campden, with an abundance of walks over the surrounding countryside.
Archway House is also available to book for two guests using just bedroom 2 on the second floor and its en-suite bathroom. Please see separate listing for details.
Additional Information:
Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). Please restrict your dogs to the ground floor and garden.
Children over the age of two years welcome. Parents please be aware of the unfenced stream within the communal garden.
The bedding is non feather.
Archway House is also available to book for two guests using just bedroom 2 on the second floor and its en-suite bathroom. Please see separate listing for details.
A starter pack of wood is provided for the wood burning stove from October to April only.
Please note, Archway House may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility as it is set over four floors with many steps (although not particularly steep).
The property is within walking distance of a pub and fabulous village shop and tea room.
A professional gardening service maintains the gardens, where possible whilst the property is empty, however not always possible. Please contact our Bookings Department if you require further information.
