The Space:

Nestled within the peaceful surroundings of Allerthorpe Golf & Country Park, Sunbird Lodge offers the perfect countryside escape for families, friends, or couples looking to unwind. This beautifully designed two-bedroom, two-bathroom lodge combines modern comfort with stylish interiors, creating a relaxing home-from-home for up to six guests (maximum 5 adults).



Step inside to discover an open-plan living space filled with natural light, featuring a contemporary kitchen with high-end appliances and a spacious dining area ideal for shared meals. The lounge is warm and inviting, with plush seating, a flat-screen TV, and doors opening out to the private decking area where you can enjoy your morning coffee or an evening drink surrounded by nature.



The master bedroom boasts a luxurious en-suite bathroom and soft furnishings in calming tones, while the second bedroom offers flexible sleeping arrangements for friends or family. A second bathroom adds extra convenience, and the sofa bed in the living area provides additional space for guests.



Outside, the private terrace offers a tranquil spot to soak up the peaceful park atmosphere, complete with a bubbling hot tub, the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the local countryside. With woodland walks, golf, and scenic lakes right on your doorstep, there’s plenty to enjoy within the park itself.



Sunbird Lodge is also pet-friendly, so your four-legged friends can join you on your getaway. Whether you’re seeking a weekend retreat or an extended countryside escape, this lodge is the perfect base to relax, reconnect, and recharge.



Please note Sunbird Lodge welcomes one medium sized dog, or two small dogs per stay and we request that they are not left in the lodge unattended, at any time.



Guest Access:

Guests will have access to their lodge from 4pm on their arrival date.

Our on-site team will be on hand to support your check in and ensure you have everything you need for your stay.



The maximum occupancy of Sunbird lodge is 6 guests but please note only 5 adults are permitted per stay due to the size of the sofa bed.



Please note that there is one parking space to the side of each lodge, this is to be used by one vehicle only. All other vehicles can drive to the lodge to drop-off luggage but must park their car in the main car park for the duration of their stay.

There is strictly no parking on the grass at any times.



Quiet times are between the hours of 10pm and 7am and we politely ask that you respect your neighbours when using the outdoor facilities during these hours to ensure everyone has an enjoyable time when staying with us.

Please note that the park is Dog Friendly but we ask that all dogs are kept on a lead at all times when on the park site. Sunbird Lodge welcomes one medium sized dog, or two small dogs per stay and we request that they are not left in the lodge unattended, at any time.



All guests can make use of the additional facilities at the Lodge Park. These include JJ's Bar & Grill, a Take-away Pizza Shack, 9 Hole Golf Course, Driving Range and Children's Play Park.

Getting Around:

Allerthorpe Golf & Country Park is ideally located in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, offering easy access by road, rail, or bus, while being just a short drive from the historic city of York. The park sits just off the A1079, around two miles from the charming market town of Pocklington and approximately thirteen miles east of York city centre. Guests travelling from the north or south can reach the park via the A1(M) and A64, with free on-site parking available, adding convenience and flexibility when exploring the local area.



For those arriving by train, York Railway Station is the nearest mainline hub, offering frequent direct services from major cities including London, Leeds, Manchester, and Edinburgh. From the station, the park is around a 25–30 minute drive, with taxis and car hire readily available. Regular bus services also operate between York and Pocklington via East Yorkshire Buses, and from Pocklington it’s just a short five-minute taxi ride or a pleasant countryside walk to the park.



Locally, guests will find a range of shops, cafés, and restaurants in nearby Pocklington, along with beautiful open spaces like Allerthorpe Common Nature Reserve, perfect for walking and cycling.
