About this property

2 Bed in Sedbergh (oc-b31909)

Set in the lower half of a converted threshing barn, this beautifully updated retreat is a peaceful base for couples or small families looking to explore the stunning Yorkshire Dales. Located on the owner’s friendly smallholding, a mile from the market town of Sedbergh, the cottage is bursting with rustic charm and surrounded by breathtaking countryside with scenic walks straight from the doorstep.

Step inside, and you'll find a generous open-plan lounge/diner, where exposed stone walls and wooden beams add character, while sofas, a Smart TV, and coal-effect electric fire invite you to relax after a day out. Gather around the farmhouse-style dining table for hearty meals prepared in the well-equipped kitchen, which has everything you need for a self-catered stay. The property offers two lovely bedrooms, both with flexible zip-and-link super-king-size beds that convert to twins on request. One of the rooms features full-length windows and a rustic stone wall, while both have their own en-suites – one with a walk-in shower, the other with a shower over the bath. Outside, the enclosed patio is the perfect spot for morning coffee or al fresco dining. There’s also an enclosed field where dogs can run freely, plus a handy washroom with laundry facilities and a doggy shower – ideal after muddy adventures. Guests are also welcome to meet and help feed some of the animals on the smallholding (please note that chickens and farm dogs roam freely). Off-road parking is available for two cars.

The historic town of Sedbergh is a joy to explore, with its cobbled streets, independent shops, welcoming pubs, and weekly market that dates back to the 13th century. Venture south into Dentdale to discover the village of Dent (6.5 miles. With both the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks within easy reach, this is a dream destination for walkers, nature lovers, and outdoor adventurers.
