This inviting holiday retreat, welcoming five guests, sits in the quaint Yorkshire village of Thornton Dale, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. You’ll find a fantastic array of riverside and rural walks from the village. Just 8 miles away is Dalby Forest, with its network of woodland footpaths, mountain biking trails, plus a Go Ape adventure course. After a busy day, refuel in one of Thornton Dale’s welcoming pubs or cafes. Alternatively, head into the bustling market town of Pickering, 2.5 miles away, where you’ll find a wonderful choice of restaurants showcasing local produce. In Pickering, you can also hop aboard the steam trains of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Day trips from the cottage include the Gothic coastal town of Whitby (20 miles) and the Victorian resort of Scarborough (16 miles). There are also some excellent attractions nearby, such as Flamingo Land (6 miles) and Scampston Hall (10 miles).
