Yet its location on the fringe of the village ensures a peaceful stay away from the busy coastal resorts.


Arranged over two floors, this picture-perfect cottage retains some rustic touches, including a tiled kitchen floor, a brick-built fireplace, and latched interior doors. After days in the fresh sea air, you’ll love returning to the cosy living room to curl up on the sofa with a good book or watch some TV, with a wood-burner-effect gas fire to keep you snug on chilly evenings. Prepare hearty breakfasts and delicious dinners in the country-style kitchen, and raise a toast to your day as you dine at the family table. On fine days, fire up the BBQ and make the most of the pretty garden. When bed is calling, head upstairs to the two bedrooms – one double, one with bunk beds for two on the first floor. A family shower room completes the upstairs.


With a pub, fish and chip shop, and local store, Docking takes care of all the basics, with some lovely walking and cycling routes leaving from the village, too. You’re spoilt for a choice for a day at the coast, with the resorts of Hunstanton and Wells-next-the-Sea both within 12 miles, and a delightful coast road that features walking trails, nature reserves, farm shops and gastro pubs along its pretty route. The stately homes of Sandringham, Houghton Hall and Holkham Hall are all within 11 miles.
