3 Bed in Southwold (oc-1qs)
1 Queen Street is the former home of the celebrated detective novelist P.D. James in which she wrote a number of her most famous works. Bursting with character and charming original features, leave behind the hustle and bustle of everyday life at this Grade II-listed townhouse with plenty of room for the whole family to explore the heart of Suffolk’s crown jewel, Southwold, and its sandy coastline, quintessential seafront and historic pier.
Open brick fireplaces, exposed ceiling beams and traditional rustic furnishings throughout this townhouse ooze cosiness and comfort, beckoning you to unwind on the plush sofas in the homely lounge, cook up a storm with your local produce in the farmhouse-style kitchen/diner and gather the gang to make special memories seated around the antique style dining table. As day turns to dusk, you have three bedrooms across the ground floor and first floor to retire to, which all boast charming characterful features and a soothing colour palette of neutral tones. If you’re not quite ready for bed, challenge the gang to a game of table tennis at the ground floor entrance. Soak up distant sounds of the rolling sea whilst dining alfresco and star gazing past bedtime in the shared courtyard.
The delightful beach hut, 'Roaring Buoys' is a wonderful addition to this property. Situated on The Parade in Southwold just down the steps from the Reading Rooms and near to the popular Lord Nelson. This prime position is perfect for enjoying the beach and includes plenty of equipment for an enjoyable day by the seaside such as windbreaks, buckets and spades, table and chairs and other seating. Picture the sun beaming down, building sandcastles and paddling in the sea and returning to your own beach hut for a warming drink - the perfect day by the seaside! Roaring Boys is located next to Suzie's cafe therefore beverages for all the family are right on your doorstop - you'll struggle to resist the aroma of Suzie's bacon rolls each morning!
Southwold is a charming seaside town on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, bounded by the North Sea to the east, by the River Blyth and Southwold harbour to the south-west and by Buss Creek to the north. Lined with beach huts and a Victorian Pier, while away a sunny afternoon at the Blue Flag awarded Southwold beach less than half a mile away and enjoy strolling along the promenade or paddling the tide. Admire breathtaking seaward views at Southwold Pier a mile away before exploring its excellent selection of independent restaurants and shops. Indulge in a peaceful river cruise along the banks of the River Blyth followed by a coastal voyage around Sole Bay from Southwold Harbour 1.5 miles away.
