Stepping inside this characterful and charming abode, the inviting lounge boasts exposed wooden beams and a wood burner – perfect for laid-back evenings with your favourite TV programmes for entertainment. Prepare home-cooked meals in the stylish kitchen; close by, the dining room is an ideal space to linger and plan your next day’s adventures. When it’s time to sleep, there are four calming bedrooms to choose from: a king-size and a double, plus two single bedrooms, one of which is tucked under the sloping eaves. A family shower room completes the comfort and convenience for all. For a breath of fresh air and al fresco refreshments, the gravel courtyard has a bistro-style table and chairs.
There is allocated parking for two cars in the nearby church car park, so you can unpack and then enjoy Holt hassle-free. It’s easy to venture further afield without the car too – the North Norfolk Railway operates a service from Holt to the popular Victorian resort of Sheringham (7 miles). For a contrasting coastal experience, Blakeney’s atmospheric quay and tidal creek are 5.5 miles away and the embarkation point for boat trips to see the seals at Blakeney Point. Further along the coast, the beaches at Wells-next-the-Sea and Holkham (both within 15 miles) are stunning.
