Tucked within the historic Elie House estate, this stunning two-bedroom loft apartment blends 17th-century grandeur with a sleek, modern interior. Originally built in 1697 and later used as a convent in the 1970s, Elie House has been thoughtfully converted into a collection of luxury residences, surrounded by beautiful private grounds. From here, you’re just a short distance from Elie’s village centre and long sandy beach, with coastal walks, cafés and golf all close by – a peaceful, characterful base for exploring the East Neuk and nearby St Andrews.
Inside, 12 Elie House feels calm, bright and contemporary, with modern finishes, gas central heating and underfloor heating creating a cosy retreat in every season. The loft-style layout offers stylish open-plan living space and two comfortable bedrooms, ideal for couples, friends or a small family. There’s Wi-Fi for planning days out or streaming in the evenings, and bed linen and towels are supplied (guests are simply asked to bring their own if using the sofa bed, and to pack beach towels for days on the sand).
Practical touches make longer stays feel easy. The apartment comes with two off-street parking spaces, and there’s a shed available for safely storing bikes after coastal rides or rounds of golf. A lift serves the upper levels of the house, with just a few stairs up to the flat’s own front door (please note the lift is shared and outwith the owner’s control, so availability can’t be guaranteed). Up to two pets are welcome by arrangement (£25 per pet), so four-legged guests can enjoy the estate grounds and nearby beaches too. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the property.
