An inviting cottage with river views in the quiet village of Bodinnick, this reverse-level retreat is perfect for a family or party of couples. Nestled on the east side of the River Fowey, it sleeps six guests and is just 150 metres from the ferry, which operates all year round, taking passengers over to fashionable Fowey. The three-bedroom cottage makes the perfect base for exploring this corner of south-east Cornwall. Head over to Fowey to wander the shops, galleries and boutiques or to dine out in one of its eateries serving freshly caught seafood. The sandy beach at pretty Readymoney Cove is just 1.5 miles away, also by ferry, and is a great place to swim and snorkel. Venture 3 miles instead to the sweeping sands of the National Trust’s Lantic Bay, which is also popular for paddling and picnicking, as well as picking up the scenic South West Coast Path.

Make your way into the cottage at ground-floor level. With a reverse-level design to ensure you maximise the magnificent views during your stay, the property encompasses all its bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs. These include a lovely king-size with an en-suite WC, plus a twin and a double. You also have the exceptional convenience of two bathrooms, one of these is an en-suite shower room, while the other is a family shower room. Head up to the first floor of the cottage to emerge in a light-filled, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Amble through to the sunroom/dining area, where an abundance of windows frame the spectacular views out over the water towards Fowey on the other side. Dine in here, play games or simply open a bottle of wine and chat as the sun sets and the lights on the far bank begin to twinkle. Prepare delicious meals over in the kitchen area, where there is also a breakfast bar, with the local produce you have sourced nearby. Settle on the soft seating to watch the Smart TV or listen to music on the stereo and chat long into the evening.

Carry morning coffee out onto the sun terrace on fine days. Have breakfast out here too, as you lose yourselves in the views. There is no parking with this cottage, but guests can park in the village car park, 500 metres away, which is free.
