A recently renovated family home in Malborough, fabulously situated only 5 minutes drive and easy walking distance to Salcombe and Hope Cove.
Sleeps 8-10 lending itself to friends and families. It has a well equipped open plan kitchen/dining room leading to a large terrace and balcony and a beautifully appointed sitting room with a log burner.
Added bonuses; a large garden, off street parking for 2 cars and a hot outdoor shower for rinsing off after a hot day on the beach!
Windrush is a delightful family home that has been in the family and loved by two generations for over 65 years. When the family bought the house it was a cottage divided in two for agricultural workers. The garage area was a pigsty, the kitchen extension area was the outside WC and coal shed, and the garden was a large vegetable patch which prior to family purchase, was supporting the cottage and adjacent houses in Lower Town, Malborough.
Malborough village is situated on the high ground just inland from Salcombe, Bolberry, Hope Cove and Thurlestone. It has a thriving community spirit, a large shop, petrol station and two pubs. In addition to being able to access the coastal areas by road and car, there are numerous rural footpaths leading directly from the village to Batson Creek, Salcombe’s North and South Sands, the National South West Coastal footpath including scenic Bolt Head and Tail, Soar Mill, Hope Cove, Thurlestone and Bantham.
Whilst the house is situated in the quiet area of Lower Town and has off street parking for two vehicles, there is also ample off street free parking nearby at the Village Hall Car Park.
It's perfectly suited for large families of all generations, as well as groups of friends looking for a relaxing holiday at the house and its immediate surroundings itself, or taking part in the numerous pastime activities including beaching, boating, walking, eating and drinking, the beautiful South Hams has to offer.
The house is self sufficient enabling guests to come and go as they please, the layout with its large kitchen/diner upstairs leading onto balcony and terrace and large sitting room downstairs, is perfect for accommodating generations with different interests, those needing to work from home, as well as providing an alternative ambience for all house party guests to gather as activity and mood dictates.
In addition to the main house there is also an annexe/garden room available to rent which will accommodate two more. It has a super king / 2 x twin beds and a separate bathroom.
