Dating back to 1880, this beautiful property has been painstakingly refurbished, excellently preserving its original Gothic arched door, stunning cast-iron windows, and distinctive stone mullions.
Situated amidst the gentle undulations of Devon`s glorious countryside, The Gate House is your serene sanctuary, welcoming you with the promise of tranquility yet conveniently located less than two hours by train from the bustle of London. Lose yourself in the charm of your private garden, or explore the stunning landscapes of the wider estate.
Perfectly accommodating 4â6 guests, the house boasts two intimate bedrooms and a flexible living space. Warm your evenings by the inviting wood-burning stove, dine in the radiant, sunlight-soaked dining area, and delight in the convenience of the well-equipped kitchen.
Positioned a stone`s throw from Huntsham Court and the quaint nearby village church, The Gate House offers the freedom of being booked independently of the main house. Whether you`re seeking a soulful countryside escape, an admirable wedding stay, or additional graceful accommodation for estate events, this property guarantees an unforgettable stay.
Electric vehicles are not to be charged from our electricity supply at any of our properties. Kindly use the Zapmap app to find the nearest public charging place to the property.
âą Please observe and adhere to all speed limits on the driveways.
âą Please do not enter the working farms. This is for your own safety as the farmers could be shooting.
âą When on our walking routes, please close all gates and keep any dogs on leads.
âą Please adhere to all signage with regards to parking. Do not park anywhere which may cause a nuisance to our neighbours.
âą Noise. Please respect our neighbours, in particular, with regards to noise â consider childrenâs bedtimes. Your gathering must be brought inside by 9pm on weekdays and 10pm on weekends to control noise.
âą The pools and hot tubs may be check during your stay by the caretaker. Please be aware that he may be on the premises for this and for other maintenance purposes.
âą The pool cover is not a safety cover and must be removed fully before swimming. It will not support your weight.
âą Children must not be allowed to enter the pool area unsupervised.
âą Please do not swim in the lakes.
âą Please ensure to use the designated smoking areas only.
âą Only wood is to be burned in our fires and these must be extinguished if left or when you go to bed.
âą Children must be supervised at all times.
âą Children under the age of 16 are not permitted to use the hot tub.
âą The hot tub must be filled with water at all times. If the water level falls below the top water jets it must be refilled immediately.
âą If the pool or hot tub water is not completely clear it must not be used. Please inform us immediately if this happens.
âą No glass to be taken to the pool or hot tub.
âą If bringing dogs with you, please ensure to keep them under control and away from any livestock.
âą Do not use any glitter or confetti. No decorations are to be sellotaped, pinned or blue tacked to the walls or doors.
âą We do not allow fireworks, external speakers, DJâs, marquees, or day guests exceeding the maximum number of guests at the property.
âą Noise must be kept to a reasonable level at all times. If playing music indoors during the evenings, please ensure to keep any windows closed.
When You Leave
âą The house must be vacated by 11am at the latest.
âą All rubbish must be removed from the house and gardens, and placed in the correct bins outside.
âą All washing up must be done or loaded into the dishwasher.
âą All unused food is to be thrown away or taken with you.
âą All furniture and items must be returned to where they came from.
Failure to observe the above rules may result in loss of damage deposit.
