Set within a private estate in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, on the edge of the charming village of Pensilva, The Henhouse is a hidden gem, an idyllic retreat immersed in Cornwall’s breathtaking landscapes.
Step through the stable door, and you’re welcomed into an inviting living room diner, were history and comfort blend effortlessly. Exposed original stone walls and streams of natural light create a warm, characterful atmosphere. A cosy circular dining table, small TV, twin armchairs, and a snug sofa complete the space, inviting you to unwind, whether you’re curling up with a book or sharing a leisurely meal. Two steps down, the stylish yet functional galley kitchen awaits, equipped with everything you need to prepare a delicious breakfast before heading out to explore. The charming double bedroom, framed by exquisite stone walls and a Velux window above, offers a peaceful sanctuary, where you can drift off beneath a canopy of stars. The spacious bathroom features a large, curved shower enclosure, the perfect place to refresh and rejuvenate before another day of adventure.
Outside, a quaint patio area with picnic bench-style seating provides the ideal spot for morning coffee, surrounded by the fresh Cornish air. From here, you’re perfectly placed to explore dramatic moorland, sweeping coastal views, and hidden coves, a landscape rich in natural beauty and history. Perched near one of Cornwall’s highest points, The Henhouse offers a front-row seat to some of the most breathtaking panoramas in the county, an enchanting escape into Cornwall’s wild heart.
Just a short stroll from your doorstep, winding footpaths lead through unspoiled wooded riverbanks, where the flash of a kingfisher, or rare sighting of an otter are a joy to behold. Above the calls of buzzards and kestrels echo through the landscape. Once a thriving hub of Cornwall’s mining industry, the land is now dotted with the striking remains of old engine houses, standing as proud sentinels of a bygone era.
