The Villa Aqua was designed as summer home of the late Viennese Artist, Leopold Schersch founder of the “Aquatism”movement. The scenic location served as an inspiration for his art, which embellishes the common areas.
His Greek family has transformed the house offering a true Greek Hospitality experience.
The host Aliki, is the stepdaughter of Leo’s and shared kindred spirits as artists.

About the Accommodation:
Sleeping:
The two spacious bedrooms accommodate up to 6 guests. Each bedroom has a queen and a twin bed. There is a dedicated restroom for each guest room.
Air Conditioning:
Both bedrooms have A/C and ceiling fans. There is no central AC.
There is ample breeze in the common areas and rotating floor fans to keep temperatures comfortable. Natural insulation is created by the stone wall architecture.
During cooler months, bedroom’s AC offer a heat setting and space heaters are available for common areas.
Internet:
WiFi is included and the living room has a TV with NetFlix and YouTube streaming.
Water:
Water in Ios is desalinated and suitable for bathing and washing. The kitchen has clean drinking water filtered by reverse osmosis. Villa Aqua has solar water heater.
Laundry:
Host provides wash, line dry and fold laundry service for 10€ per load.
Housekeeping:
If staying longer than a week, a weekly house cleaning service for a fee is available and to be pre-scheduled with host.
The Bathing and Beach towels and bedding are provided.
Sewage:
Toilet paper and sanitary supplies must not be flushed. Garbage bins with lids are provided. This is a rule throughout Greece.
Dining:
The Kitchen is fully stocked with cutlery, dishes, and cookware.
Food Delivery menus are available too.
Access:
Transport to Villa Aqua upon arrival and for Departure are provided by host with notice for a fee. Pick up from Port is available for a fee. The cost per transport is 30€ 10am-10pm.

The Neighborhood:
The Villa Aqua Guesthouse sits on the hilltop above the historic “Agia Irini” church built in the 17th century. Its namesake translates to “Saint of Peace”.
When you arrive on the ferry you will see the grand Villa Aqua perched above the “Limani” (port). There are magical views of the ocean, “chora” (town), and sunset from your room. There is a shaded porch and wrap around verandas that will be a lovely way to start your day with a stretch and coffee.
For beach enthusiasts, a 15 minute hike from the house will lead you to “Valmas” a remote beach.
The famous Mylopotas beach is easily accessible with a short bus ride from the port as well. Manganari and Agia Theodoti beaches are accessible by bus, ATV, or car.
Villa Aqua is the perfect location avoiding the crowded tourist areas, but still very central walking distance to the bus, ferry, church, beach, restaurants, bakery, market and everything Ios has to offer.
The “Chora” (town) is up the steps and accessible by bus or taxi as well.
