Fun family base for exploring south Devon's beaches and Dartmoor
A handsome stone barn on the outside, a wide open-plan modern living space inside. In the summer you can throw the doors open to the gardens and enjoy the fresh air and birdsong. In the winder you can light the wood burners and play games around the massive solid wood table. The newly custom-built kitchen has everything you might need (dishwasher, induction hob, electric oven, coffee machine, kettle, toaster). Two cosy bedrooms with queen sized wooden-framed beds share a family bathroom. There is a further large bedroom, with an en-suite shower room, which can either be twin beds or a kingsize, with an additional single futon for a child. Max occupancy is 7 in beds and an additional 2 in travel cots, but it is an equally fun space for a couple. Dogs are welcome (max 2). The house is set in extensive gardens, with a private garden area just for Studio guests, with seating. There are lawns and orchards to explore and our organic certified land grazed by friendly sheep. There are footpaths leading from our land, so you can walk from the door. A short drive (4 miles) will take you to Bantham beach - a stunning expanse of golden sand - or choose from several other great beaches and coves within a short journey, including Bigbury and the magnificent Burgh Island. Swim the 'swoosh' from Aveton Gifford to Bantham, surf at Bantham or Bigbury, paddle board at South Milton Sands, skate the bowl at Outside Devon, or walk stretches of the South West Coast Path and then relax and restore back at the Studio. Plenty of great places to eat, from the quirky Oyster Shack down a tidal road, to fine dining in Dartmouth and Salcombe. And plenty of interesting National Trust places to visit, galleries, cafes, pretty villages (with great pubs) and quirky towns - all within striking distance.
