Beautiful family home in ideal location. A slight internet connection problem was resolved very speedily by the super responsive hosts. Highly recommended for a family holiday.

A home from home

Penlarach House was one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in. We loved the open plan kitchen, dining, living area with huge windows with views over the garden and hillside to Loch Feochan in the distance. The kitchen was very well equipped and the cottage was super comfortable ad tastefully decorated. Garden fully enclosed - ideal for our dog. We had a lot of fun with firing up the wood burning sauna, hot tub and pizza oven and particularly enjoyed the sauna. Oban is a short car journey (10 mins) with a choice of supermarkets, cafes and restaurants. The area is outstandingly beautiful and we loved our trips to the Kererra, Mull and Iona, Port Appin - a week wasn't really long enough.

Lovely house in a great location

We were excited to stay in Penlarach having stayed here many times around 10-15 years ago and we were not disappointed. The new owners have done a fabulous job of upgrading and remodelling the house which is very comfortable and superbly appointed. Highly recommended

Road trip from Llanelli

We drove from Llanelli, a 10 hour drive. The property and location are outstanding.The specification inside is excellent. More importantly for us the peaceful, whispering glen was magical. Sandie our booking agent was fantastic too.A treasured memory in a bath tub full of peat brown pure water with a wren on the tap. The islands are a must do especially the Slate Isles…12 hours back to Llanelli full of chatter of returning… Diolch o galon

Fantastic property

A lovely well equipped house that had everything we needed and beautifully furnished. Fantastic outdoor space with wood burning hot tub, baths and sauna ( the water bucket was a big hit). The best bit was the spectacular view across the Glen . Will definitely be back. Thank you x

Fantastic holiday home

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our stay was a very last-minute booking, and we truly struck gold! From the moment we arrived, we fully relaxed. The house is beautifully presented, well equipped, and has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. The spacious open-plan living area was perfect for spending time together, and the bedrooms are a great size and very comfortable. The outdoor sauna, hot tub, bath and pizza oven were absolute highlights—especially after a wet day out on the water. The location is fantastic too, with Oban just a 10-minute drive away, making it an ideal base for exploring the area by car and boat. We had an amazing week and can’t thank our hosts enough. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this wonderful property and are already looking forward to returning!

A brilliant stay!

A lovely house. The owners are next door and could not have been more helpful and cheerful (including even pulling our car out of a bog, when it was not convenient to them). The situation is stunning; the hot tub has views to die for. The house has a few quirks - every member of the party who cooked, hit their head on the (rather low) cooker hood. And there is insufficient fridge space for a party of 8, while the freezer was largely unused by us. But these are minor matters, in a really lovely house. We would definitely go again and recommend it hugely to anyone. We also took the cottage next door, with easy access through internal gate, making an excellent place for a party of 12.

Fantastic stay!

We had such a lovely stay at Penlarach and honestly didn’t want to leave! The house is gorgeous and super comfortable—everything from the beds to the outdoor sauna, hot tub, and baths made it feel really special and relaxing. We spent loads of time hanging out in the kitchen and living area, which is perfect for a group. It was so fun watching the kids run between the hot tub and the cold water bucket! The views over the hills and down the glen are just beautiful too. There was plenty of space for all 8 of us, plus our two dogs, who absolutely loved the outside space. We’d definitely come back and would happily recommend it to anyone.
