Perhaps fishing for the famous Selsey crabs takes your fancy, or there are plenty of restaurants serving this local delicacy in the town. Another reason for holidaying in Selsey is the dark sky; as most of the street lights are turned off at midnight, you will see the sky light up with millions of stars, which is why the famous astrologer Patrick Moore made his home in Selsey. Only a short drive from Selsey and you can be walking the lanes of historic Chichester with its harbour, where you can browse around local shops, or enjoy afternoon tea after a trip to the cathedral, before an evening at the theatre. If racing is more your style then make for Goodwood, with three big events each year, and dozens in between.
