About Jodie Bowden
We are a family of five and have lived in the Memphis area for 17 years. We enjoy the great food (especially BBQ), the people and the city. There is always something fun to do in Memphis.
Jodie Bowden purchased this House in 2017
Why Jodie Bowden chose Harbor Town
We love the quaint community of Harbor Town on Mud Island. It is peaceful and relaxing, yet close to downtown. I enjoy driving along the Mississippi River and looking at the views of the bridge, the Pyramid, and the city skyline.
What makes this House unique
This home is special because it is tucked away in a safe community. I love the floorplan of this house and the location. It doesn't feel like you are downtown when staying on Mud Island. I think it is one of the best kept secrets of Memphis.

Cute, clean little home in great location
My husband and I stayed at this cute, Mud Island home while visiting our son. We wanted a place with at least two bedrooms and close to his job so he could stay with us while we were there. This home was perfect. Conveniently close to most of the Memphis sites ( Civil Rights Museum, Beale St, Sun Studio, Rock and Soul Museum, Gibson guitar factory, Peabody Hotel, Memphis Redbirds MiLB Baseball, Graceland, the Pyramid, etc.) The home was very clean, and well equipped. Mud Island is quaint and safe.
The only downside was a lack of window treatment covering the semicircular window in the master bedroom. I’m a light sleeper and between the street lights at night and sun in the early morning it was difficult to sleep. I would recommend bringing a sleep mask.
We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Memphis.
Gorgeous and fantastic!!!
We enjoyed the spacious beautiful home. Area is fun. The home is in close proximity to various events in Memphis. Jodiebowden was very helpful and extremely nice to work with.
Suggestion: couch in den is not comfortable for adults, use for children only. Secondly, a television in all sleeping rooms, would be nice.
We would definitely stay here again. Thank you.
Lovely and clean
The house is cute, clean and nicely decorated. Nice touches like a snack basket, coffee, and tea. Only stayed two nights but it would be perfect for longer stays too. Uber/Lyft were usually 10 minute wait to get picked up at the house, but that wasn’t bad since we needed the XL. The only negative was the mattress on the pullout sofa. I don’t recommend sleeping on that more than 2 nights but is probably fine for kids. Nice, safe neighborhood. Owner was super friendly and very responsive.
We had a great time staying at this property. It was perfect for our family of four and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location is fantastic in a family neighborhood and close to all the attractions of Memphis. Walking distance to restaurants, a grocery store and to the shores of the Mississippi. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
Comfortable, clean and contemporary home
We rent a home nearly every time we travel and this was definitely one of the best we have stayed in. We would certainly stay again if in the Memphis area. Conveniently located, very safe and quiet neighborhood. Owner was very thoughtful with timely responses to our questions and gave advice about local restaurant options. The snack basket and bottled water in fridge were great welcoming touches. The couches and beds were very comfortable. Many rental homes are stocked cheaply with low quality towels, linens and rugs, but not this home. The owners have this place well-appointed. We spent some time on Beale Street and visited the Civil Rights Museum (ran into Jesse Jackson too!). We only wish we had been able to stay longer. Thanks for making our experience great!
Tony, thank you for the awesome review. We are so happy that you had a great experience while in Memphis. We too rent homes when we travel, so we want to make sure our guests have the very best while on vacation. We can't guarantee that they will run into Jesse Jackson, but we want them to have a wonderful and memorable experience. We hope that you and your family will stay with us again when you visit Memphis.
Inside is like a model home.
Owner was extremely accommodating
Gary, Thank you for staying at our Harbor Town house and for the great 5 Star review. We appreciate the feedback and hope you will stay with us again when you are in Memphis.
