2 bed, 1 bath, amazing views. Rent by itself or with main house for up to 20.
"Hawk's Nest" is a beautiful and bright 2 bedroom, 1 bath home that is the perfect place to relax and recharge. Newly constructed, The Nest comfortably sleeps 6, has a modern, well-appointed kitchen, open concept dining and living room area and beautiful tile bathroom. The Nest is an ideal home base for all the Gorge has to offer--hiking, biking, wine-tasting, windsurfing, museums and more. But, be warned--The Nest is so cozy and comfortable and the views so spectacular, you may not want to leave!
The first floor has two bedrooms and a full bath. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and window with a view of the Columbia River. Bedroom 2 has a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and twin on the top. This bedroom has a lockable sliding glass door to the front of the house. The full bath has a gorgeous, modern tile shower.
The light and bright upstairs has a wall of windows that allow guests to soak in the spectacular view of the Columbia River and surrounding areas. The views are truly awesome! The upstairs is a small "great room" with seating area, dining area and kitchen. The seating is oriented to enjoy the flat-screen TV with cable or the spectacular views. There is a fun loft area perfect for sleeping, reading, playing games, or for the kids to put on a talent show. The stylish couch folds flat into a comfortable double bed. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances (including dishwasher) and is very well-appointed. There is a dining table that seats 6 plus bar seating.
The Nest is located on a quiet cul-da-sac that is perfect for children to play and ride bikes. It has a large brick patio on the side with a propane grill and room to park 2 vehicles.
Mosier has as very cool vibe with two restaurants (Mosier Company and Rack & Cloth) serving incredible, locally sourced food, beer, wine, cider and spirits often times coupled with live music on their outdoor patios. Both are an easy walk from our house. There is also a cute ice cream parlor in the summer (Route 30 Classics). They also have a fleet of e-bikes available for rent to enjoy the incredible, empty roads in Mosier. A new small grocery store is scheduled to open in Spring 2018.
Easy access to Mosier Tunnel Trail and Route 30 for biking, and you can hike to a beautiful waterfall and wildflower hike right out the door. It's a quick and easy drive to downtown Hood River for shopping and restaurants, while still feeling away from it all. Book our home instead of a Hood River Property and save 8% in occupancy tax.
This structure is the guest home for our main house, "Hawk's View", which is located behind it. The Nest can be rented in conjunction with the main house (see VRBO listing #438847) or by itself. It is a separate structure from the main house with it's own entrance and parking. The main house sleeps up to 14 so when rented together with this property, it allows up to 20 guests to stay together while still having enough space to spread out. This is truly a one-of-a kind Gorge estate perfect for family reunions or multi-family get-aways.
Well-behaved dogs with responsible owners considered for a non-refundable $100 fee.
We encourage fun but being respectful to our neighbors is top priority. No loud parties allowed.

About Jill Hawkins
We fell in love with the Gorge in the 1990's. Windsurfing was the initial draw but the astounding beauty and access to world class recreation-mt and road biking, rafting, hiking, fishing, golfing, and more kept us coming back. The restaurants and shops are top notch and the wine tasting and access to local produce are stellar! We chose to build our home in Mosier because of it's unique Columbia River views and it's small town charm. It's so close to all that Hood River offers but you feel greater calm and serenity here. We built our main home, Hawk's View in 1999 and our guest home, "The Nest" in 2017. We are happy you are considering it for your next vacation.
Jill Hawkins purchased this Guest House in 2017
Why Jill Hawkins chose Mosier
We built The Nest in order to accommodate more family and friends when we are there so that we can share the bounty of the Gorge with our loved ones. The Nest has been a perfect place for us to house grandparents or another family who want to be close but also want some privacy or peace and quiet. When we are not using it, we are happy to rent it to families, couples, or groups of friends looking for a relaxing and fun get-away. The view is spectacular and the space is surprisingly spacious. When rented in conjunction with the main house, parties of up to 20 people can stay together which is unique and unmatched in the area.
What makes this Guest House unique
Our renters enjoy the spectacular views, the proximity to recreational options (particularly the hike to the waterfall and bluff right from the house), wine tasting (several wineries right up the road!), less than 10 minutes to Hood River, the coziness of our home and the excellent communication and care from the owners. From our home, you can bike to the Mosier Twin Tunnel Trail and other amazing road bike options. The strong consistent winds coupled with smaller crowds at the local windsurf/kite beach (Rock Creek), which you can see from the house, make this a perfect launch pad for the windsurfer/kiter.

Cute, Comfy, Clean. SPECTACULAR VIEW!
Such a darling place with a stunning view of the Gorge. Our family of six was really comfortable and had plenty of room. It's on a steep hill, but that's what allows for the VIEW.
Great little place with amazing view and access to gorge delights!
The Hawk's Nest was clean, comfortable, and had an amazing view! We very much enjoyed having this place to stay at as we explored the gorge and visited family and friends.
The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is this: the parking is a bit challenging. The driveway is extremely steep, there is not much room to turn around at the top, and its sketchy trying to back down such a steep incline. Anyone with mobility issues would also find access challenging.
Also, if visiting in the winter and spring bring thick socks or slippers. The bedrooms are downstairs and the beautiful flooring is cold, cold, cold!
Loved waking up to GORGEous
views!! The owner was very helpful and responsive. Thank you!
Thank you for choosing our home for your get-away Kim! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and the amazing Gorge views. We never tire of them. Thanks for the feedback about the floors--sounds like it's time for more cozy area rugs! Regarding the parking, our driveway is indeed steep and not for the faint of heart! I warn renters of the main house of this but forgot to mention this to you. Sorry! I'll also let future renters of the guest house know that their parking is limited to the bottom of the driveway as the top is reserved for guest in the main house. Regardless, there are stairs and hills to navigate so good to mention that. Thanks again!
Great weekend away with a gorgeous view!
My husband and I went with another couple for the weekend and had a blast. The home is surprisingly spacious and very well appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed. There was another group staying in the house behind us while we were there, but parking was easy and there was really no noise. For us, the best part was the location and view. It was so gorgeous it made it hard to leave. We'll definitely be back.
