There are many footpaths from the cottage in all directions from picturesque Crosby Garrett village, and for supplies, Kirkby Stephen is just 4 miles east. Follow the 182-mile Coast to Coast route, venturing east into the Yorkshire Dales or west into the Lake District. Set off on two wheels or your trusty hiking boots to explore the Eden Valley, 15 miles, venture into the Great Asby Scar National Nature Reserve, 8 miles, or visit Smardale Gill Viaduct, just 1 mile away.

Climb the external stairs to the first floor and enter this romantic retreat with the whole floor open plan. The pretty lounge area is perfect to snuggle up and watch a good movie while the wood burner roars away. The kitchen/diner offers all you need to create a nice romantic meal to enjoy while sitting at the dining table with views over the valley and beyond. Head down to the ground floor (please be aware the stairs are steep) and you’ll arrive at a bedroom with a super-king-size bed and a lovely en-suite shower room.

After a busy day exploring the landscape, make the most of the shared garden area with seating and enjoy the peace with a glass in hand.
