Dating back to 1632, the retreat beautifully preserves its original Cotswold stonework, exposed beams and historic character while seamlessly incorporating contemporary luxury and intuitive technology. High-speed Starlink Wi-Fi, integrated smart lighting, voice-controlled features and a private AI house concierge have all been thoughtfully introduced to make your stay effortless, without compromising the timeless charm of this remarkable property.



Wellbeing has been thoughtfully woven into every part of the experience The private wellness suite features a three-person infrared sauna, medical-grade red light therapy panels and zero-gravity massage chairs, creating a peaceful space to relax, recover and recharge. A fully equipped gym is available for those wanting to stay active, while outside, the private hydrotherapy hot tub offers the perfect place to unwind beneath the stars after a day exploring the Cotswolds.



Sleeping up to 24 guests, The Painswick Retreat has been thoughtfully designed to bring people together while ensuring everyone has their own peaceful place to retreat. The accommodation comprises five king-size bedrooms, five double bedrooms plus four childrens single extra beds (by prior request) for flexible family sleeping arrangements. Selected bedrooms feature chromotherapy lighting to encourage restful sleep, premium hybrid mattresses and luxury linens provide exceptional comfort.



At the heart of the retreat lies an impressive private banqueting hall/meeting room, creating the perfect setting for memorable celebrations, family feasts or private chef experiences. Two fully equipped kitchens are well equipped for larger groups, with a Rangemaster range cooker, double ovens, American-style fridge freezers, dishwashers and BIBO filtered water system. Additional dining areas provide quieter spaces for smaller gatherings, while the enclosed courtyard gardens invite guests to dine alfresco, enjoy evening barbeques or drinks around the firepit.



There's something for every member of the group. Experience movie nights in the private 4K cinema with its impressive 12-foot Carrada screen and immersive 7.1 surround sound, challenge friends to pool, air hockey or foosball, or head to the vaulted cellar bar for cocktails and conversation. Fast, Starlink internet runs throughout the retreat, making it easy to stay connected whether you're streaming on the big screen or working remotely.



Despite its central village location, The Painswick Retreat enjoys two beautifully enclosed courtyard gardens. The private hydrotherapy hot tub sits within its own sheltered courtyard. Private parking for up to five vehicles makes arriving with larger groups both convenient and stress-free.



Known as the "Queen of the Cotswolds", Painswick is one of the region's most charming villages. - To respect our neighbours, we ask that you only use the hot tub between the hours of 10am and 9pm.

- Dogs are welcome in the Tranquility accommodation only. To help maintain a clean and relaxing environment for all guests using the spa and wellness facilities, dogs are not permitted in any other areas of the complex.

- The property comfortably accommodates up to 20 adult guests. A maximum occupancy of 24 guests is permitted where the additional beds are required for children. Please let us know at the time of booking if your party includes children who will require the additional beds.

- The security deposit may be partially or fully forfeited in the event of a breach of the house rules. This includes, but is not limited to, excessive noise, noise complaints from neighbours, unauthorised parties or events, damage to the property, or any other breach of the booking terms.
