About the property

Log Lodge, 5 Bedrooms + Loft, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 23-25)

Edgetts Lodge

You won’t see Edgetts Lodge at first. You will see the big sign carved by a local artisan and the drive curving through 38 pristine and private acres of old-growth red pines. It takes a few minutes to get there, but when the lodge comes into view it is well worth the anticipation.

Built from the huge red pines taken right from the property, Edgetts Lodge is 5,100 square feet of hand hewn rustic log luxury and sky scraping windows. It sits high above a riverbank with a breathtaking view of the Pine River; one of Michigan’s most beautiful and unspoiled blue-ribbon trout streams.

Edgetts Lodge property runs on both sides of the river and the Pine is designated as a “Federal Wild and Scenic River” - rated one of the Mid-West’s best for kayaking and canoeing. You will see white tail deer, wild turkeys and even bald eagles in the forest. The lodge property is good for all seasons activities: trout fishing, angling, hiking, cross country skiing and snow shoeing to name a few…

As you enter the lodge, it will feel like you have come home – the perfect combination of indoor comfort and wraparound porches and decks. The lacquered pine walls, the trophies and special details: you are bathed in the golden glow. On the first floor, there is a spacious great room with a stone fireplace, a gourmet kitchen, formal dining room and a master suite with private balcony. Downstairs is a fully equipped, ground floor game-room with a cozy, fieldstone fireplace and a separate “bunkhouse” bedroom and bathroom.

The upper floor boasts a second master suite and private balcony, a family room with built-in media room and large screen TV and two additional, multi bunk bedrooms (known affectionately as the Bear Room and the Moose Room).

All in all, Edgetts Lodge sleeps 23 comfortably. There is a game closet, a laundry room, 3 ½ bathrooms and panoramic views of the Pine River and the surrounding woods. Whether you are a family celebrating a milestone birthday or anniversary; a group of friends getting away from it all; or couples on a romantic holiday, the Lodge is the place to call “home” for a week or a weekend.

Why Mark Slavsky chose Michigan

This property has been in my family for over 60 years. It also has an old trappers cabin on it that we used before the Lodge was built. Edgetts Lodge was completed in 2006.

What makes this lodge unique

You will enjoy a trip back in time during your visit to Edgetts Lodge. Modeled after a 19th century Log Mansion common to upstate New York in the 1800's, you will find yourself surrounded by rustic luxury on this 38 acre private estate.

Spectacular!

  • 4 of 5

This is a one-of-a-kind property. The lodge itself is unique - meticulously designed and built with native timber from the surrounding forest, then decorated with a wide array of taxidermy specimens, Indian arrowheads in the mortar of the stone fireplace, old coins in the poker table, old photographs embedded in the acrylic bar top, and totally up-north themed furnishings. God's grandeur is best experienced outside, but you can see it from inside, as you are perched aloft a high spot on the bend of the river with huge windows and balconies. Trophy fish are available on-site, if you have the persistence to sit at the edge of the yard and wait for them to bite. Kayaks are provided. They can be launched from the yard and trailered back to the property. Special memories are made here.

Gorgeous Lodging tucked away in nature

  • 5 of 5

The lodge is absolutely stunning and offers all the amenities you could need. I continued to be in awe of the attention to detail around the lodge and just how comfortable it was for our group. We were a yoga group and so each morning we loved going down by the river and practicing yoga. The property is absolutely gorgeous and really tucked away in nature. We enjoyed how serene it was and we used the fire pit every night to share stories and sing around the fire. I have stayed at many properties around Michigan and this was by far the most luxury, most private and most inspiring place I have stayed! Mark was in constant contact throughout the weekend and the caretaker Doug was also very helpful. We hope to come back next Spring for another weekend getaway! Thank you so much!

Another great weekend, 7th in a row

  • 5 of 5

This was my 7th year in a row I have rented the Lodge for a high school Winter Weekend Getaway. This year proved to be just as awesome, comfortable, fun and perfect! The lodge provides a place for us to be together for group games, cooking and eating all in one place. With guitar and song filling the atmosphere in one room, a card game going on around the kitchen table, a roaring fire in the fire place and ping pong going on in the basement, the whole Lodge was filled with memory making moments for everyone there.

The setting is warm, welcoming and inviting and I just absolutely love it! If you are looking for a getaway with friends and/or family I HIGHLY recommend this Lodge. Mark, the owner, is so easy to work with and is attentive to your needs. Doug, who takes care of the Lodge and is local to the area, is readily available for anything you might need be it suggestions for something to do or if something needs tending to in the Lodge he is a phone call away. Every year I walk in the front door, I immediately feel relaxed as I look right out the wall to ceiling windows in front of me to the great outdoors! The pictures on the website of the Lodge and surrounds look as gorgeous as the place is for real. Check it out! You won't be disappointed.

Very rustic and private location yet we are only 20 miles from Cadillac which has every convenience a big city can offer from Wal-Mart to sushi bars and 5 star restaurants. A small grocery store is only 3 miles away in Bristol.
