About Doug Draughn
Our family has it's roots in the Mount Airy area for several generations now. We have raised our three grown children here and watched them all graduate from Mount Airy High School. I personally graduated from North Surry High School in 1979. After receiving my degree in Electrical Engineering I worked for Duke Energy 15 years out of college and have spent the last 19 years as a financial advisor.
Doug Draughn purchased this corporate apartment in 2016
Why Doug Draughn chose Mount Airy
This property and it's sister property 'The Main Suite' were constructed as part of our renovation of the historic building at 496 North Main Street. We purchased this property in 2016 because of it's convenient location and immaculate surroundings in the financial district of Mount Airy. Originally constructed in 1903, the extensive renovation project was completed in October 2017 and I relocated my business to the front office facing Main Street. The two vacation rental 'Suites' at the back of the building opened in December 2017. Our family loves everything about Mount Airy and the surrounding area. For many years I have searched for the perfect property to relocate my business. This building came with the added bonus that let us construct two premium nightly rental facilities for visitors to our area. We dedicated thousands of hours of our personal time to the renovation and we expect and hope this facility will be a property that can pass down through the generations that follow us.
