NEW FOR 2024: AIR CONDITIONING! The Summer House at Bayberry Cove is located in the historic seaside community of Pemaquid Trail, adjacent to the entrance of beautiful Pemaquid Beach in New Harbor, Maine. With tranquil ocean views, this lovely 2-bedroom, 1-bath year-round cottage is a perfect longer term rental for a single person or couple who doesn’t want to rough-it on their retreat to Maine. This ‘home away from home’ is filled with luxury touches and conveniences such as a stacked washer/dryer, dishwasher, flatscreen TV, Internet, quartz countertops, and hand-hewn hickory floors, all with a nautical theme for that “cottage” feel. Linens and towels are included in your rental, and the beds will be made up for you.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the screened in porch, and watch the sunset from your balcony. The cottage has a fenced, private backyard and charming gardens, perfect for reading a book, writing. Close to all historical sites on the peninsula such as the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse and Fort William Henry; and minutes away from a fully-stocked local grocer and several lobster co-ops for your clam bakes and picnics. Absolute perfect location for relaxing, exercising, or daily excursions to many coastal Maine sites, such as Boothbay Harbor, Camden, and Bar Harbor.

During Summer season, the Summer House has a Fourteen (14) night minimum stay. Reservations begin on a Saturday and end on a Saturday.

House was nice and right size for us. Only issue for us was the couch and chair, they were a little deep so not very comfortable to sit in. But we made it work

Heaven in Maine

We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation in Maine than at this beautiful house on St John’s bay. Communication with the owners was seamless! We took full advantage of the location by visiting the local beach, Boothbay, and Acadia National Park. Being able to walk across the street and sit by the bay to enjoy our morning coffee or 4th of July fireworks was priceless! We can’t wait to come back next year!

Relax and Enjoy!

We enjoyed our stay in Maine. The location was great, the cottage was very warm and relaxing. We particularly enjoyed drinking coffee each morning on the screened in porch listening to waves at the nearby bay. Each day we would go on a day trip and return to the cottage in the evening, the cottage is in a good location to see several nearby villages and sites.

Cottage on the ocean

We had a lovely time staying in Thomas and Laurie’s cottage! They were kind and offered helpful suggestions for our stay. The space is well equipped and inviting. The neighborhood is a quiet one with friendly neighbors nearby and within a stone’s throw from the ocean.

Relax and enjoy

This house was clean, comfortable and relaxing with excellent views of the ocean. Thomas and Laurie are great hosts although we never really needed them. I highly recommend this vacation home.

Beach House Gem

This beach house was the best. Clean, spacious, comfortable and offering a kitchen that had everything you could possibly need. The views of John’s Bay were wonderful to wake up to every morning. The sunporch was a perfect location to have a coffee and read that summer novel. The small beach a few houses up the road was tranquil and had many sea treasures to offer. Pemaquid Beach was a short 3 minute drive. Our host was wonderful. He greeted us upon our arrival and gave us a tour of the property. Sunsets were absolutely stunning and a shout out to our Host for the Adirondack chairs to enjoy those sunsets. This beach house is a gem. It was so comfortable and felt like home.

Off to a good start

The owner met us at the door and gave us a quick walkthrough to orient to TV and heating system. Even introduced us to the neighbors. This set the tone for a comfortable and welcoming stay. The quiet and well-maintained house, comfortable beds, beautiful views made this a restorative stay.

Lovely House

Nice week at this pretty, pristine place. Great location - especially if you like to walk. One of the prettiest kitchens I’ve ever seen. Love the colors. The whole area is remarkably beautiful. Absolutely recommend it.

This is probably my favorite rental with vrbo! The view of John’s Bay was wonderful! Loved the area and definitely the best of the peninsulas for me. Loved Boothbay Harbor and was a short drive from New Harbor. The colors were beautiful during our week. The rental was very cute and comfortable. The owners were great people to work with. Would recommend highly at any time!

Well loved and appointed cottage

Lovely location with views directly to water and water access across neighborhood road with little traffic. Quality linens,comfortable mattresses and furniture, modern appliances. Many personal touches for a homey feel. Well priced for area. Good location for walkers; quick access to large, clean, white sand beach. New Harbor is one of our favorite areas with good hiking, eating, and shopping options nearby.

Perfection!

One word says it all in regards to the cottage and our stay, perfection. This is one of the best kept secrets in Maine. The Summer House is situated in a perfect location with easy access to many local attractions and town. The accommodations are immaculate, cozy and comfortable and our hosts Thomas and Laurie were equally accommodating. Everything one may need is inclusive and readily available. You could not ask for more in a vacation rental, in fact it didn't feel like a rental but more like home. We will be returning and hopefully this will not become so popular that we would not be able to reserve the Summer House. Thank you Thomas and Laurie and we will be seeing you again.

hidden gem

The summer house has it all. Very comfortable and very clean home, you just dropped your bags and the vacation started. Everything you needed, and things you didn't know you needed, was in this rental. House is near beach on a long dead end st with beautiful water views and sounds. Lovely bench and chairs set out across from house to watch the water, boats and beautiful sunsets. Walkers, biking and joggers will love the location. Decide if you want to go out or stay in ...either way you win. Short drive up to the lighthouse and Reillys shop. Hosts were available nearby if needed.

Little slice of heaven : )

I sit here smiling, as it was such a complete pleasure to have found this cottage. From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. As a painter/poet I desire open space and solitude. Beautifully and efficiently designed by the owners, this rental was perfect. A full kitchen met all my culinary and health needs. There were amenities and little touches I found other rentals did not offer. I thoroughly enjoyed being down by the water or on Pemaquid beach daily, searching for little treasures. The setting gave me the inspiration and privacy needed to both paint and write. Thank you, Thomas and Laurie, for your warmth and hospitality, and for being there when needed...and yes, I am already looking forward to next summer! : )

Perfect New Harbor Stay!

We absolutely loved our week at the Summer House! It is immaculate, spacious, beautifully decorated and perfectly appointed with everything you might need. The water views are beautiful and are accurately depicted in the listing photos. Having access to the bench and Adirondack chairs at the water’s edge was heavenly. There is so much to see in the area, but it is also very relaxing to be at the house and enjoy the views whether sitting inside, on the screened in porch or on the balcony. Thomas and Laurie are wonderful hosts and we enjoyed our conversations with them. We didn’t need to ask for anything since the house had everything we needed. They had so many thoughtful touches: different types of coffee makers, extra blankets, sightseeing tips, a collection of novels, apple tv which was great so we could rent a movie on a rainy day, an electronic lock (with access code we requested) so we didn’t have to deal with keys.. We would love to rent here again! (The only thing we wish we would have known before arrival is that the owners are in the process of building a new house across the street. During our week’s stay, workers were there almost every day - into the early evening. The new building does not impact the views as depicted, and we still had access to the bench & chairs at the waters edge. Again, we would definitely rent again-even with the construction taking place!)
