Space 500 sq. ft.
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

When you stay at the Shipp's Cabin II, you will sleep to the sound of ocean waves and a gentle ocean breeze in this Luxurious beachfront villa. The twin sized murphy bunks make full sized adult sleeping arrangements comfortably for 6 adults.

This villa is conveniently located on the popular Isle of Palms Front Beach strand and set just behind the sawgrass dune where, from your balcony you'll enjoy a clear view of the ocean and the tropical surroundings, while experiencing a special privacy, out of view from onlooking beach crowds. The first floor elevation of this villa (ten steps up) and its location in the end building with a special cut-through walkway, make it an even shorter distance to and from the beach and the pool make it especially desirable in a complex with no elevators.

If you don't feel like grilling out at the beach side barbecue pits, you are only a stone's throw from the Banana Cabana, the new Coda Del Pesce (Italian Seafood), Coconut Joe's, Luke & Ollies Pizzaria, Acme Lowcountry Table, The Sea Biscuit and the world famous Windjammer beach bar and grill as well as the Front Beach shopping area. This condominium complex claims the only pier on the Front Beach strand and is private for your fishing or relaxation enjoyment.

When you are not enjoying the sun, the surf and the private pool, you are only twelve miles from the Historic District of Downtown Charleston, South Carolina, ranked the #1 City in the World by the 2015 Conde' Nast Traveler Magazine readers poll. Here you will find endless restaurants, shopping and historic & scenic tours to fill your vacation days and nights.

Clean and close to beach

  • 4 of 5

Overall it had everything that the kids and I needed, except no washer/dryer in room. My only complaints would be that the view from the balcony was the parking lot and there was no hot water when taking baths/showers. Otherwise the location and the area was very nice.

Owner's Response: The high lifeguard chairs on the balcony face the ocean. It's a beautiful view. There is a maintenance phone number provided to call in the event there is a problem with the equipment in the unit. Maintenance was never called about a hot water problem.

Great location

  • 3 of 5

Wonderful location, with pool and beach right out the back door, and restaurants/shopping out the front door. The property itself is nice but really small. The photos make it appear much larger than it is. We were very tight with three adults sharing one bathroom and one bedroom.

A few things are not clearly outlined in the listing. First, check in/check out times, which you don't know until after you have reserved and paid. With a late 4 pm check in and very early 10 am check out (and online notes from the owner NOT to ask for an extension on either end of the stay), you are paying for the full rate for two short, partial days. Also, the description reads as if the unit has a washer/dryer, and it does not. Instead, there are shared public laundry facilities on the property.

Clean, safe, great location, nice pool and loved the pier!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to Isle of Palms and we are already planning our return. The Sea Cabins are a lovely, beachfront condo complex within walking distance to shops, restaurants, music and ice cream. All of which were very convenient for us as we vacationed with our 3 and 4 year old grandchildren. The kids loved the pool and we all enjoyed having access to the private pier. We stayed in The Shipp's Cabin II, which was reasonably priced and exactly what we needed for a comfortable and affordable vacation. We are looking forward to coming back next year without the kiddos.

Needs a redo

  • 3 of 5

This condo was as stated. However the cleaning fee needs to be put to just that. It needs a really good top to bottom cleaning. It is sufficent for 2 adults and 2 small children. Would suggest that you get rid of some of the furniture in the living area and open it up some.

Cozy Condo, Incredible Location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at this property at the end of September 2016. It's a nice condo and the location is incredible. The pictures make it appear a little larger than it actually is but it's still comfortable. We went for a family vacation, my wife and I and our 3 children, ages 4, 2.5 and 6 mos. The children being those ages made it more of a challenge, but we found a way to make the sleeping arrangements work. My greatest overall "complaint" if it could be called that was that I'd provided the childrens' ages in advance. Yet within minutes of getting into the property the 2 year old had found the drawer, at a comfortable height for him to go through, that was loaded with knives, not butter knives but a host of different sized cooking/chopping/carving knives. That lead to an immediate need to go through everything to find out what dangerous items were at children's level. Other than that the property was nice, the location, as I said, incredible and the weather was nice too. Take bug/mosquito spray, the deck is great and nice to sit on in the evening but the bugs are unforgiving!

Updated, great location, very small

  • 4 of 5

We have 2 small kids and a baby, and thought this condo would be a perfect fit for us. Sadly, it was definitely WAY too small. There was not much floor space for my kids to play during downtime away from the beach. Although I knew the floor plan before we arrived, it was so much smaller than I had imagined. We put a pack & play in the bedroom and it took up that floor space so we had to move it just to open the door enough to get in and out. The 2nd bedroom is definitely not a bedroom, more like a nook with the murphy beds. The location is so close to the beach, and the street is filled with restaurants and gift shops. The pier is awesome. The pool was nice to have as well. It is nicely updated/decorated, was clean, and had everything we needed for the kitchen, and enough storage space for all of our stuff for the week. I would only recommend this for 2 adults, or possibly a family with 1-2 older children if you don't plan to spend much time in the condo.
