A cozy mountain cabin retreat located 25 minutes west of Flagstaff (and 65 miles from the Grand Canyon). The cabin stands admist the Kaibab National Forest on a beautiful slope nestled among the tall pine trees. There is also a slight peek of a mountain view from the kitchen window! The cabin is decorated in true "Northwoods-style" fashion and it is a true nature retreat that gives you the chance to "unplug" from your cell phone, TV and electronic equipment -allowing you to just sip coffee on the large deck while listening to the wind through the pines. You may also enjoy the wood burning stove on chilly days -so romantic! This cabin is fully furnished with a queen size bed and a brand new mattress. There is a fully equipped kitchen with microwave, coffee maker, cooking equipment, toaster oven, fridge/freezer and washer & dryer. There are two comfy recliners and a comfortable sofa where a 3rd person may sleep (it is NOT a pull out bed though). Hot & Cold running water (using a 1000 gallon cistern tank). A modern bathroom as well. The cabin is very very close to a few trail heads where you may mountain bike, hike, cross-country ski or ride horses. There are some ATV trails in the area as well. There is also a portable horse pen for 2-4 horses (additional fee applies if you bring horses). Flagstaff is just 25-30 minutes away and is a great place to experience one of the many unique restaurants/shops. Or you might wish to visit Arizona Snowbowl for some downhill skiing (located right outside of Flagstaff). The cabin is also a fun 25 minutes drive to Williams, AZ and 65 miles from the Grand Canyon. Take a scenic train ride from Williams to Grand Canyon. You will enjoy this historic ride.
Enjoy the nature, only 65 miles from Grand Canyon! 7100 feet altituede .

About Ramin Darband
We moved from St Louis MO to Phoenix AZ in 2011. We love it in Phoenix. Some times we miss the green and that is why we bought Koko's cabin. Koko is the name of our horse. She is a rescue horse. We made sure she can stay at our Cabin safe. We love to be at our cabin in hot summer days in Phoenix or in cold winter up in Parks AZ. The wood burning fire place makes that cabin so cozy with some hot "koko". :)
Ramin Darband purchased this Cabin in 2017
Why Ramin Darband chose Parks
This property is nicely on a slope and the terrain is exciting. When you look out of the kitchen you can see the Kendrick mountain. You see all the pine trees. It is breath taking to listen to the wind blowing thru the pine trees. At nights, it is pitch dark. You can see the starts so crisp clear. This is pretty much the wonderful way of being in the nature with the luxury of simple cabin. We just go there to relax. Get out of the day to day hectic and stress. I am so happy that the cell reception is very weak to non existence. You are disconnected from the electronic world. You could drive down the road and you will have some reception. Be conservative with water please. We have a 1000 Gallon Cistern. You can use 120 Gallons per day as included in your rent. Usually that is more than enough for 2 people. After that we have to charge you a small fee of 20 cents per Gallon.
What makes this Cabin unique
You are out there in the forest, yet within 30 minutes you can be in downtown Flagstaff and 65 mils from GRAND CANYON. First Gas station is 6 miles away. There is a McDonald and Subway 10 minutes away. Breathtaking view of starts are right in front of the cabin! Flagstaff downtown 25-30 minutes away. Williams AZ about 25 minutes.

Perfect relaxing getaway!!
Everything about this place was perfect! We had a great time and loved being off the grid for a couple days, although we were just a few steps away from cell service (Verizon) if we needed it to check on the kids. The kitchen had everything we needed, the bed was comfy, and the interior was a perfect blend of modern and rustic cabin - and very clean. We had low teens for temperature combined with snow and the space heaters combined with the wood burning stove kept us more than comfortable...even had to turn heaters off at times.
The owner was very communicative and was quick with responding if we had questions prior to the trip. We'll be back!
Dear Guest. We are extremely happy that you enjoyed our little cabin. We truly appreciate your kindness to take care of our cabin as if it was yours. Verizon seems to not be too bad on the little hill next to the entry . I am pleased , you were able to stay warm and enjoy the snow. I also appreciate your quick responses via text messages. We would be thrilled to have you back. Try us in Summer when it is triple digits in Phoenix, we will have nice 75 degree weather.
Fantastic cabin, highly recommend
My girlfriend and I rented this cabin over the weekend and could not have been happier. The cabin was immaculately clean and exactly as described in the listing. Fully stocked kitchen, very comfortable bedroom, and most importantly a WOOD BURNING fireplace, not gas! That part was my biggest requirement. The owner provides a very helpful how-to video on turning on the water pump and electricity (for obvious reasons they have everything disconnected when nobody is in the property).
The scenery was outstanding as well. We came in the middle of December so there wasn't any wildlife around, but just to be in the middle of the forest and disconnect from the city for a weekend was well worth it. Close enough to Flagstaff or Williams if you want to go out to dinner for the night. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and plan to come back. They even have a tenant journal where previous renters wrote about their experience and some of the fun things they did while at the cabin; we wrote down our best memories as well.
Highly recommend this cabin and owner; everything was very easy and we plan to return someday.
Dear Guest. I am so happy that you and your girlfriend enjoyed our cabin. We love the wood burning fire place ourselves. Thank you for being cautious and safe. Yes we have to winterize every time a guest or ourselves leave the cabin to avoid pipe break. It gets very cold in winter. I hope you enjoyed the snow. I appreciate your prompt communication with me. Once again, thank you for visiting us and we are looking forward to having you again.
A Peaceful Quiet
I was a solo visitor at Koko’s Cabin and absolutely loved my time there. One morning I climbed up the hill looking for cell reception (which I found), it was so quiet that I could hear a raven’s wings flapping (whoosh-whoosh-whoosh) as it flew over me. It was a simple thing, but was quite special to me. I was very comfortable in the cabin using the heaters only. Ramin was great host and available anytime I needed him. I will definitely visit again!
Dear Guest, I am so joyful that you appreciated the raven's wings flapping. That is exact same way how we appreciate the nature and its creatures. It is just so calming to shut off the cell phone and laptop and listen to earth, animals, wind...Thank you for your communication. Please come back and visit us. We are here for you. Thank you for taking good care of our little cabin.
Great way to GET AWAY!
My wife and I spent about 4 days here and it was great, We hiked around the local trials and went to both Rims of the Grand Canyon. It was a great place to get away from life and just enjoy each other!
Dear Guest, I am very happy that you enjoyed each other. The electronic free life at the cabin is a wonderful way paying attention to things ,what really matter. Thank you so much for taking great care if our cabin. Please come and visit us again. We make sure you will have a great time for less rent. :)
Amazing cabin out in nature.
This cabin was AMAZING! We loved feeding the birds and chipmunks from the porch. It is perfectly located between Flagstaff and William's. And the general store on route 66 was a throw back and just perfect for breakfast. My wife likes to run and the cabins location provided a perfect dirt road to run on. Thank you again this was a great stay.
It made my day to read your review. I am glad your wife could run in the nature and breath in the fresh air. :) I also loved it that you stopped at the little cute route 66 store snd supported them by having breakfast. I hope you were happy with everynthing else. Please text or email me if there is anything else you think I could do better.
Peaceful Retreat in the Forest near Flagstaff
A lovely maintained cabin in the woods in Parks AZ. It is a great place to escape the Internet, TV, phone calls and just relax. I especially liked feeding the birds, hummingbirds, and small critters. Ramin has everything needed for an escape. Close to Williams AZ and Flagstaff. My only minor issue was not being able to flush toilet paper which we thought even with septic systems there was a fix to that issue. The owner was very responsive to questions and the directions and instructions were excellent. I would definitely come back again!!
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking your time to write us a review. I am glad you had a peaceful time.Thank you for feeding the birds. They are always happy when we have guests. Thank you for your fast communication. I am happy you found the cabin easy with directions were given to you. Some times it can be hard in the woods. :) I think there must be a misunderstanding regarding septic system. Female products are not allowed to be flushed in the toilet . Toilet paper would be Okay. I am sorry for this misunderstanding. Please accept my apology. Please come and visit us and we will make it right for you. I hope you had a safe trip home.
