lake front cabin bed and breakfast

It was the perfect location for a quick weekend getaway. Located in Interlochen Mi it’s close to sleeping bear sand dunes(30 mins) traverse city (15 mins) and had local eateries and shops. Trail head was just down the road for hiking/biking and the cabin had kayaks and rowboats available for use. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and electric fireplace. The owners were very helpful and were quick to respond. They also included some gift certificates to a local restaurant which had great service and food. We plan to return

Awesome place

The little cabin we stayed in was very nice. We took advantage of the hot tub, the dock and the boats they have on the property. If you’re an outdoorsy couple this is an awesome place to stay. We caught bass, bluegill and pike off the dock every night we were there. They also have DVD’s you can borrow at night before bed. The only con we experienced was a bit of a smell in the anglers nook cabin. We had beautiful weather and kept the windows open for the week we were there so it wasn’t a big deal for us. The owner is also extremely friendly.

Very peaceful retreat!

Very peaceful spot to relax! Dave was great and super accommodating if we needed anything! My only thing is I wish the bed and pillows were a little more comfortable. They made my 8 month pregnant body awfully sore! Other than that, GREAT place!

Colors Get Away

My husband and I stayed in the Anglers Nook on the property, we came north before heading to Florida for the winter to see the fall colors, what colors we seen were beautiful. It was nice yo come back to the suite where it felt like home, with all the comforts of home. We were just sad we did not have or make enough time to use the amenities of the hot tub, boats or lake. All was wonderful and would recommend to family and friends. Chris & Sharon

Nice and Quiet

Perfect little place to get away from it all. We thoroughly enjoyed getting out on the water in the rowboat and hitting the hot tub in the evening. We had to chuckle....watch the dates for reserving - we stayed while the acorns were falling - those things make ALOT of noise when they hit the deck or deck table, lol. Thanks, Dave, for a memorable experience!

Fun, Extravagant getaway 20 miles to TC.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and were pleasantly surprised at how great everything was. We really enjoyed using the hot tub both nights and also going out on the kayaks. Our favorite part was being relatively secluded and having the place to ourselves (mainly as yours nearby 2 other rooms and the owners room.) If you're looking for a scenic and quiet getaway, this is the one. We will certainly be going back again.

About the host

Hosted by Melanie Olsen

Host profile image
Our love has always been Northern Michigan and we have pursued the dream of living here with our purchase of the Lake ‘N Pines Lodge Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the state’s most beautiful area. This provides us the opportunity to merge two of our favorite things: enjoying the treasures of the great up north and our passion for sharing our home with others.

We are a very unique lodging facility offering 3 diverse accommodations including a 900 sq ft suite with private sauna and Jacuzzi, and a two bed room suite with a full kitchen.
As well guests enjoy use of the kayaks, canoes, rowboats and outdoor Jacuzzi, all complimentary as well. It is our goal to make our guest feel welcome and relaxed.

If you are looking for peace and relaxation then you have found the perfect spot. Watch the sunrise from our dock while enjoying the sights and sounds of beautiful Northern Michigan. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property because we had been vacationing in the Traverse City area for years. The beauty of the area and the unique specialty shops downtown makes it truly a great place to visit. I have always loved to fish and hike/enjoy nature. So finding a property on a large lake with only a handful of homes located at one end surrounded by state forest was a dream come true.

What makes this property unique

When people ask why we love the property we simply highlight some of the great benefits of it, such as:
* It is located on 1000 acre Lake Dubonnet, that is a sanctioned wildlife habitat
*Only 8 houses on the lake - all located in one channel and then the rest is surrounded by 6000 acres of the Pere Marquette State Forest
*We are 15 minutes from downtown Traverse City, which sits on Lake Michigan and is full of unique shopping and dining along with amazing outdoor activities
*We are located only 35 minutes to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes National Lakeshore where we love to spend time exploring the dunes and the surrounding area
*We live in a community that takes great pride in its city and that supports its residents
*Its wonderful to live in one of the friendliest areas around! Strangers will bid you a hello or have a good day with a warm smile whenever you meet!
* The incredible outdoor adventures that are available in the area
