Jeremy was easy to communicate with, the property was very clean and the spot was beautiful!
Cozy cabin located in the Adirondack mountains. Cabin was clean and had everything we needed , the beds were comfortable and clean. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars to this property is that I wasn't able to use my phone when I was there. I could get on Facebook, but noone could call or text me. The only other thing, is the trash. We were responsible for taking the trash to the dump. I feel this should be part of the owners responsibility, not the person who rented it. Going to the dump was very inconvenient.
Thank you for your stay at DuMont's Cove. Cell service in much of the Adirondacks is spotty and is non-existent for many carriers. I recommend you ask your wireless carrier about WiFi calling. We have many guests and family who use it for both Verizon and AT&T and gives full cell service and options via the WiFi internet. This helps and works in many areas that have poor cell signal on any future trips you may take.
A quiet place for family to connect and enjoy!
Beautifully landscaped, welcoming wrap around deck with rocking chairs, hammock under the pines, a bench at the water's edge (perfect for watching the sunrise), and a large open kitchen/dining/living area. The property is set back from both the lake and road in a peaceful spot under the trees. The yard is large and well maintained- our kids loved playing outside and down at the waterfront. The cove, which has a nice view of the lake to the north, is shared with other neighbors who were respectful. The kids liked the warm, shallow, sandy-bottom water in the mouth of the narrows.
We love to cook and enjoy dinners together- the well-equipped kitchen and large gathering space that opens to the deck were perfect for us. There is also a fire pit for late evenings making s'mores.
The owners have created a wonderfully thorough guest book with lots of suggestions for things to do in the northern Adiriondacks! The camp has wifi, television, a washer/dryer, wine glasses, and beach toys for the kids!
Fantastic family vacation!
We had a great week at Dumont's cove! Everything in the cabin was super clean and we had everything that we needed. All we needed to bring was groceries and our personal items. The view of the cove and lake was beautiful. We had breakfast and coffee on the deck every morning with a beautiful view. The kids fished off of the dock and took their kayaks out in the beach area. The beach area was great for swimming and tossing around a football in the water. Our daughter also loved snorkeling to look for clams. The satellite TV was nice, but we only turned it on once or twice. We opted to play a game of monopoly (from the game cabinet) when it rained or just before bed. The wifi was fast and very convenient because I had to work a bit while I was there. The fire pit was great for making s'mores and enjoying some down time at night. The yard was also very big, which was great for the kids. They also had a great time riding their bikes in the driveway, which was away from the road. We will definitely stay here again! Thanks so much to Jeremy and Amanda for providing such a great place for a family vacation on the lake!!
Amazing great family time
My husband and I are originally from Malone NY and live in south Florida for the past 32 years. We heard about this cabin from a family member. We wanted our daughter and her children to experience north country living. It was perfect for her young children 3,4, and 5. There was plenty of room and many things for the children to do. They played board games, went fishing (caught their first fish), read books at night, roasted marshmallows, went swimming, and ran outside. It was nice to see them away from electronics and enjoy the outside country living. The cabin had everything we needed. The only challenge at the end was the last day of garbage. We understand the owners can't get rid of everyone's garbage. We did go to the dump the day before, but still had some on the last night and we left early at 4am and had a family member take it to their house thankfully due to the landfills aren't open that early. That was fine and the only challenge. All was fantastic and appreciate all the accommodations that made it so easy for all of us. Thank you for our wonderful stay and highly recommend.

About Jeremy DuMont
We have several family members that live on the Lake and are very familiar with the water and area.
Jeremy DuMont purchased this House in 2018
Why Jeremy DuMont chose Chateaugay
It is private camp but easy access to Collins Point which has great views and a sandy beach. It is the south end of the lake at the entrance to the narrows so you see the entire lake and all the action on the lake but can retreat to the quiet camp when ready to unwind. If the fishing, swimming and boating are not enough for you, it is a short drive to many area attractions such as Casino, shopping, Olympic Venues, the Lake Champlain Wine Trail or the St. Lawrence Seaway with all the Hydroelectric dams and locks with large ships.
What makes this House unique
Lots to do right on the lake but a short drive in any direction to many unique attractions.
