Great Thanksgiving Getaway
River’s Edge was exactly as advertised. We had a great four night stay. Everything we needed was there. The house is secluded and of course right on the river. Our kids and dog had a great time in the yard, along the road, and by the river. Highly recommended!
Beautiful, peaceful, tranquil
The pictures do not do the river justice - it is beautiful. The setting is very peaceful and no one else was along the road while we were there, so it felt very private. The cabin interior was comfortable, fairly clean and appropriately stocked. A great getaway spot!
We loved our visit to River's Edge!
River's Edge had all the necessities our family needed and the warmth and comfort of a quaint, cozy cabin away from it all. The location is perfect for us, half-way between our family members in Ohio and Virginia and close to big stores if needed, but seemingly out in no-where land! Several DVDs were provided and I saw a satellite disk but we made it a No Electronics vacation and getting our Children and Grands away from TV, their "devices" and cell phones was awesome for all of us. (It was comforting having a land line in the event
of an emergency) Even with some rain, we took long walks in the safety of the "gated" camp, made nature crafts, played board games (many provided), and spent hours cooking and conversing around the open fire. Having fire wood provided was a huge benefit. It was so cool to get up early and take a bath in the big tub and open all the blinds to see the river, mountains and wildlife with no other people in site. Just listening to the sound of the river was so relaxing and couple that with mountains, trees, enormous rocks and solitude, made this the perfect get-away. Go...Enjoy...I highly doubt you will regret it. We're already looking forward to booking our next visit. Thank you, Dan for making this available to those of us without a cabin of our own. Now, I truly understand John Denver's
words in his song, "Take Me Home, Country Road"
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are glad you and your family had a great stay and you really captured the spirit of River's Edge which is enjoying natures beauty while connecting with family and friends!
Thank you again and I look forward to speaking with you again.
would stay here again
was peaceful, relaxing, no cell phones, no computers
cabin was large enough that we didn't run into each other
didn't even want to go anywhere, so we took one day and went sightseeing.
the rest of the time we just stayed there and enjoyed being by the river.
the fishing was not great water was low, but the guys enjoyed just sitting around the campfire
the only bad thing ( if you call it bad) was my 82 year old father wanted a rake, so we went and bought him one so he could rake leaves. everyone enjoyed would stay there again as I said before. best vacation we have had in years. the cabin and surroundings were everything we hoped it would be. so if you ever get the chance just go there. thanks
Thank You for taking the time to write a review. You certainly captured the spirit of River's Edge which is rest and relaxation by the river! Thank Dad for helping with the leaves too, it is hard to keep up with them this time of year ;-)
Although we had a hard time finding the location, it was well worth it once we were there. It is truly a hidden gem. Favorite thing was sitting around the fire pit overlooking the river with a cold brew. Very comfortable place.
just as pictured
It was exactly like the pictures. . .had everything plus that a person would need. . Would stay here again if/ when the occasion arises.
