Beautiful, Quiet Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cabin. Our favorite part of the cabin was the awesome patio. It was so nice to sit out there and enjoy a fire with the sound of the river in the background. We also very much enjoyed the horseshoe pits, the additional deck that directly overlooked the river, & the master bathroom was awesome! There were no pictures of the kitchen when we booked so in case you're wondering, the kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need! It is a beautiful kitchen. Dan was so easy to work with. He will warn you that cell phone service is hard to find in or around the house. This was actually something we enjoyed most!!! (There is a house phone with free long distance for emergencies or to give out to family members back at home.) I highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a peaceful getaway to enjoy nature and unplug.

It Really is the River's Edge

  • 4 of 5

Beautiful weather and beautiful river views. Fishing was okay, caught a few trout, some bass and blue gill. Got a great workout over the rocks walking up and down the shoreline. Water was crystal clear. Cabin was a great size, very country kozy. Had everything you needed. Brought lots of food, cooked on the grill and the fire pit. We loved, loved, loved the deck and patio. So serene listening to the river and the crackling fire. Did not have any issues except for the broken blender that leaked. I would suggest a new one and also adding a small electric processor to chop veggies or in my case artichokes and chic peas to make dips. Other than that the cabin was stocked well.

Too beautiful for words!

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at a lot of cabins but this place by far is close to heaven on earth! It is obvious that the owners care about your stay, even down to the bird feeders being full. I sat outside for hours listening to the sounds of the river right below. And my 2 boys, 5 and 10 yrs actually got IN the river albeit freezing cold! We enjoyed the fire pit every night and appreciated the firewood provided. Audra state Park was fantastic! We enjoyed this place so much we just got home 2 days ago and are attempting to book our next stay! Thank you for sharing this place with us!!

BEAUTIFUL, PEACEFUL SETTING ON A RIPPLING RIVER!!

  • 5 of 5

I HAVE BEEN INTERESTED IN WEST VIRGINIA FOR A LONG TIME. I HAD NEVER BEEN IN WEST VIRGINIA

BUT THE MOUNTAINS AND FORREST HAVE CALLED TO ME! I WAS AMAZED AT HOW BEAUTIFUL THE PLACE IS.

WE DROVE IN ON I64 WHICH IN OUR ILLINOIS IS AS FLAT AS A PANCAKE. IN WV THERE IS NO FLAT LAND.

THE INTERSTATE IS A CONTINUING SERIES OF CURVES WINDING AROUND MOUNTAINS. I WORK HARD IN MY

ILLINOIS YARD TO GROW RHODODENDRONS, HAVING TO WATER THEM ALL SUMMER LONG. IN WV, THEY GROW

EVERYWHERE LIKE WEEDS.. I HAVE TO RETURN IN THE SPRING WHEN THEY ARE IN BLOOM.

OUR CABIN WAS GREAT. I COULD TELL FROM THE SITE PHOTOS THAT THE CABIN WAS NOT A SLICK, EVERYTHING

NEW PLACE. BUT EVERYTHING IS COMFORTABLE. TRUTHFULLY, THE CABIN IS NOT WHAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION.

THE PHOTOS OF THE RIVER AND THE DECK AREAS OVERLOOKING THE RIVER WAS WHAT CAUGHT MY EYE. MY WIFE

LOOKED AT AT THE WEBSITE AND AGREED THAT IT LOOKED REALLY GOOD. WHEN WE SAT ON THE WOODEN DECK

DRINKING COFFEE AND BASKING IN THE MUSIC OF THE RIVER, SHE SAID "WE DID REALLY GOOD WITH OUR CHOICE".

SHE HAD FOUND A NUMBER OF TOURIST THINGS THAT LOOKED REALLY INTERESTING. WE ONLY DID ONE OF THEM,

CHOOSING TO STAY AT THE CABIN AND WATCH THE RIVER. NOBODY WAS ABLE TO CALL US BY CELL PHONE SO

WE ENJOYED A PEACEFUL WEEK ENJOYING NATURE. WE PLAN TO RETURN.

THE ONLY NEGATIVE TO THIS IS THE ROAD GOING TO THE CABIN. IT IS TERRIBLE. A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE CABINS

ALONG THE RIVER A I HOPE THAT BY OUR NEXT TRIP, THEY DO SOME WORK WORK ON THE ROAD.

ALL IN ALL, WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND A VACATION HERE. IF YOU ENJOY NATURE, YOU WILL LOVE IT!
