About Amanda Zolla
My name is Amanda and I have had the pleasure of caring for a lovely woman named Sarah who was injured in a terrible car accident a few years ago. She and her husband John, the owners, built and lived in this beautiful house since 2009. They have recently made the decision to move to San Antonio, TX, to trade in CT winters for a warmer year round climate. Although they are too far away now for me to continue to aide in Sarah's care, I am excited and happy for the opportunity to care for and welcome people into this home built for making memories. Here are a few words from John and Sarah about their home: The house is 8 years old and incorporates all of the energy efficiencies possible at the time it was built; active and passive solar, radiant heat, instant hot water, eight zone heating and air-conditioning control. In addition we installed hardwood or tile floors to minimize allergens. We consciously chose Highland Lake for its pristine water quality, excellent fishing and proximity to world famous arts/culture and year round recreational sport venues. We moved to Texas this fall so this will be the first time we rented the house. We hope you and your families will enjoy this wonderful place as much as we have.

Beautiful and spacious home
Had a amazing time at this property. The property manager is great and was very helpful whenever we needed it. Dock was spacious enough for my families 2 boat and the water is crystal clear. The beach is literally 100 yards down the road and was great for entertaining the little ones. Would highly recommend this property.
We had a wonderful stay at this fabulous lake front property for our annual family reunion. The home was specious, comfortable, fully equipped and spotlessly clean. There were 2 full size refrigerators, 1 mini fridge and 1 wine cooler. The bedrooms were beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The grandchildren had so much room to play indoors, run around outside, play st the beach and fish off the dock. We brought a small sailboat and a speedboat, which provided much pleasure on this beautiful lake. The deck off the living room offered a great view of the lake as well as a great place to sit and enjoy family time. The lower level patio offered a much used fire pit for s’mores and a hot tub that got plenty of use.
Amanda was very accommodating to all of our needs. We couldn’t have asked for a better week with blue skies and warm weather as the bonus.
We had a group of 10 people (5 couples) and couldn’t have asked for a better time. The house is beautiful!!!!! Everything was extremely clean and easily accessible. The host was such a pleasure to deal with. The views of the lake and all the amenities are more than we could have hoped for. Definitely looking forward to coming here again :)
A house for your closest friends and family
The well appointed interior belies the unassuming exterior of the house. A grand kitchen, with new appliances welcomes you by the entrance. Which, we used to cook breakfast each morning. A family room and a dining area with a large table that can accommodate multiple families, adjoins the kitchen. On a damp day, we spent countless hours in the sun room, imbibing coffee, the views of Highland Lake, reminiscing the past and contemplating the future. Views of the lake are also afforded from the deck in the rear. The deck has a gas-grill that we used to cook chicken, seafood and vegetables. The shimmering lake on a brighter day made a timeless sight from the deck. While, the view of the lake from the master bed was a sight to behold. Being the largest of the bedrooms, the master bed has a king size bed, a study and an attached bath. The 4 bedrooms upstairs were well appointed as well. In our group of 8 adults, 5 kids and a toddler, everyone woke up refreshed each morning (even the one's with back issues). The playroom in the lower level was a great hangout for the kids and the hot tub below the deck was a kids favorite. The amenities additionally included a canoe, a float, fishing gear, and beach toys for kids. On one of the mornings we launched the canoe on the Highland lake and took turns paddling around for hours. The small beach by the lake is kid friendly and safe. The kids spent hours together on an inflatable float and in the water. We left reaffirming our bonds, refreshed and with a yearning to return.
