About this property

Pacific Palisades gated private 1/2 acre luxury family home. Close to beaches.

Beautiful Nantucket style home in Pacific Palisades. Room for one large family or extended families traveling together. There are three bedrooms upstairs, one being the master, with king bed, and a private sitting area with flat screen. Also upstairs are a queen and a full bedroom with a full bathroom in between. There is another sitting area with flat screen outside of these two bedrooms. Downstairs is a queen bedroom with access to backyard and pool area. A full bath connects to another bedroom with built in bunks, with a full bed on the bottom and a twin on top. The third room has a day bed with two twin beds. There is a large kitchen family room area that also leads out to backyard and pool area. A full living room with piano and full dining room that can seat 10-12 easily. A powder room is just off the front door. Basketball hoop and private drive with gates out front for privacy. This home is walking distance to beaches and town alike. We are close to malibu to the north and Santa Monica to the south of us.

Perfect Christmas and New Year holiday! Thank you so much, we loved every minute!

Totally gorgeous, very comfortable and spacious, wonderful decor and much enjoyed by our family with ages from toddler to grandfather and everything in between. We would love to come back. Thank you kind family for sharing your stunning home. It is probably the best location in all of L.A. for getting where you want to go from beach to cinema, museum or shops, hiking or biking!

Beautiful setting to relax privately with family or friends

The entire property was exactly like the photos, absolutely gorgeous with all the comforts of a dream home. With the close proximity to the beach and the warm private pool we were in our bathing suites 75% of the trip and loving it. The bedrooms were super comfortable and the house was stocked with lovely towels toiletries and various pantry items. The owner was courteous and helpful although there was some miscommunication over checkout and cleaning times. The information book was definitely helpful as we learned the ins and outs of the place. (It could use a few updates -cleaning schedule etc.) We also would have appreciated a heads up about the construction directly behind the pool in the adjacent property which turned out to be only a minor irritation. Overall we were in love with the place and didn’t want to leave. Thank you Jean.

Stunning house in the middle of a fabulous location!

Communicating with Jean was a pleasure - she was always super quick and efficient to respond . On arrival to the house , we were delighted to find a pack of toiletries and sun cream in our rooms, plus eye masks - what a lovely touch! The house itself is stunning and the master suite is just unreal - massive!!! We were a party of 10 and there was loads of room for all of us - the outside space is incredibly private, with a really big swimming pool which had it's own jacuzzi area. I really cannot recommend this place enough, Jean really has thought of everything and was super charming and delightful to deal with. The area is a really upscale part of LA and the house is close to all the shops - 1 minute drive - hiking (my sister in law did every morning!) and the ocean. Everything within the house is of the highest quality from plentiful towels, high thread count sheets and kitchen accessories, the only one thing I can think we needed more of was sun loungers, as we were a party of 10 with only 3 loungers, plus there was a little bit of construction, but I am assured this was at the at the end. If we ever come back to Santa Monica we will be in touch Jean :-) Shields Family

We moved into our home the night of the Northridge earthquake. Needless to say it was an eventful morning. Since then I have remarried and gained an extra 4 stepchildren to add to my 4, along with having twins about 16 years ago. My husband and I built the home about 18 years ago with all our children in mind. Everyone is gone except the twins and the house is feeling too big. Renting through VRBO is my diabolical plot to move into a smaller home without my husband knowing. :)

Why they chose this property

I fell in love with this property the moment I walked into the driveway. The house sits on a half acre of land and it is surrounded by trees and privacy. I am from back east so it felt like home. I moved in with my 4 children and felt so safe and protected with all my trees. My children could run and scream and jump around all they wanted without disgruntling the neighbors.

What makes this property unique

Even though you feel like you are in another world, you are in fact just steps away from a bustling little village with plenty of shops and resturants, as well as the beautiful beaches of Santa Monica and Malibu. The bike path leads all the way down to Venice and beyond, with many places to rent bikes or scooters or play volleyball along the way. The Santa Monica pier is 10 minutes away by car or 45 minutes walk along the bike path that runs along the beach.
