Cellar Master's Suite - Peaceful, Private Suite on Picturesque 5 acres!
Update: Due to Covid 19 we are no longer allowing back to back bookings. We must have a 24hr break between guests to sanitize and clean the suite. This is for our guests protection as well as the health of our family. Thank you for your understanding.
The Cellar Master's Suite is an amazing hideaway just 5-7 minutes from downtown Murphys. (It is not walkable, but is a quick drive and you will be tucked away in the peace and serenity of our homestead).
The Cellar Master's Suite is a one bedroom in-law apartment (approximately 700sqft) with private entrance. In the bedroom you will find a California King bed with Tempurpedic mattress that very comfortably sleeps two adults. In the living room, the couch folds into a queen size futon bed that can sleep an additional two guests.
There is a fully stocked kitchen with all the utensils and cookware you'll need to prepare fabulous meals. The bathroom has a pedestal-style sink and stand up shower. There is a small patio that looks on to the property and has a propane BBQ grill, table and chairs. The suite includes WiFi, DirecTV, BluRay DVD player with Smart apps like Netflix, AmazonVideo, YouTube, etc.
There is a gas heater in the living room that is more than sufficient for warming the entire apartment. There is an air conditioning unit, but since it is well insulated and under the main house, it stays fairly cool during summer months. Towels, linens, etc. are included.
Our standard cleaning fee is $40 regardless of length of your stay. The Cellar Master's Suite is pet friendly for dogs (sorry no cats as owners are allergic). We charge an additional $20 pet cleaning fee.
***SPECIAL*** We are offering a special Cellar Master's Welcome Package for an additional fee of $50. This includes a bottle of local wine or sparkling, cheese, fruit, crackers and fresh local baked goods. We can customize based on dietary restrictions. Please let us know if you are interested in the Cellar Master’s Welcome Package.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Loved the country setting and view! Easy to get in and out. Great place to stay with a dog. Very comfortable, well stocked kitchen, delicious farm fresh eggs! A great place to stay for our visit to Murphys and Arnold.
Really nice unit in the foothills of Murphys. Gorgeous views, sunset amazing. Kitchen well stocked, comfortable bed, very welcoming place. Very close to so many things including Ironstone Vineyard Amphitheater and Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Host so nice keeping us informed of local activities.
The cellar suite had a beautiful view of the valley and forest of trees. It was fun to walk around the neighborhood with our dog, through the trees, up and down hills. Great food nearby in Murphys. The suite was clean and comfortable.
The directions to the place were great. Parking was fine and the walk down and below the main house was a little steep at first then it turned into a nice flat walk. The place was bigger than we expected. It has a full kitchen and bath. The bed was great and very comfortable Temper Pedic style mattress. You are on top of a ridge, so the view was excellent. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again : )
This was the 2nd time we stayed at this place. It is very quiet and nice place. Beautiful sunsets. And the donkeys seem to like the visitors. They came up to the gate when we were outside and seemed to like to be petted.
Enjoyed our long weekend in this cute unit. Kitchen had all we needed and more! Enjoyed visiting the many dog friendly places in Murphys, including the Irish Pub at the host's recommendation. Very peaceful and quiet, stunning sunset views from the porch - perfect place to enjoy a glass of local wine. Highly recommend!
Our vacation goal was just relax and kickback. This location is beautiful and we enjoyed watching the donkeys and chickens that inhabit the property below the cellar apartment. Owners were very prompt and helpful for us techno-geeks and the television.
We enjoyed our stay at the Cellar. Coffee on the porch in am with Donkeys and cocktails watching the sunset. The place was clean and owners quick to respond to questions. Comfortable bed and couch. A little older/retro decor and lighting a bit funky in bathroom but overall met our needs. Quiet allowed dogs and a quick drive to town.
Recommend going to
The Irish Pub for music and food. Many cute shops and wineries in town. Very close to Ironstone amphitheater for concerts.
We loved staying here while visiting Murphys. The suite itself was very clean and cozy and communication with the owner was quick and easy, the location is perfect! Up on a mountain so beautiful view but still only a quick drive into town to enjoy the wine tastings, Irish pub, bakery and shops. Also close enough that we could drive up to Arnold/Camp Connell area and enjoy the snow. The donkeys and a couple dogs in the fenced area down below us were a nice bonus as well. On our way out of town we wanted a quick hike and natural bridges trail is a must see, and good for a river dip! Will definitely be coming back here again in the warmer months to explore some more. Thank you for the great experience!
This hidden gem is just what we were looking for. We booked this spot for the Murphys open house in December. And were plesanatly surprised how tucked away and quiet this place is. The day we arrived, it actually snowed. But Jessica had the heater on for our arrival. We walked in to a comfrotably warm cozy, clean apartment. And settled right in. The bed was comfortable and the place had everything we needed. We enjoyed watching the donkeys and admiring the beautiful view from the front window with morning coffee. We look forward to staying again. Thank you again Jessica & Anthony!
We had a wonderful time! You feel so far from the hubbub, but you’re actually just a short distance from Murphys. Our hosts were great providing everything we needed for our stay and clear driving directions so our GPS didn’t take us the wrong way. If you’ve never been to Murphys, I highly recommend you go and stay here.
Separate downstairs apartment with outside access. Basic kitchen with all you need. Small back step area to watch sunset. Adjacent to farm area with donkeys. Close to Murphy’s.
This is a nice, budget friendly, pet friendly option for the Murphys area. It is a well-equipped unit and the A/C made it very comfortable despite the weather (95 degrees plus!). Our host, Jessica, was very friendly and we enjoyed a nice conversation with her and playtime with our pups. It is in the 'country' but it is a short drive to downtown. We paid for the welcome package and the wine & cheese, etc. was excellent! Pros: great host, great communication, lots of supplies for kitchen/bath, lots of hot water, comfortable bed, pretty views from living room. Cons: this is a downstairs unit, so there is a lack of natural light in bathroom/kitchen. The hosts lives upstairs, which some guests may not prefer (although there was minimal noise). The carpet is stained, which makes the place feel a bit dirty despite the general cleanliness of the rest of the unit. There is lots of bushes/brush growing around the area, which our dog picked up on his fur whenever we took him out. We found walking him up on the road was better than letting him explore around the unit, which was a little inconvenient, but do-able. Overall a nice place and would recommend for two people and a fur baby!
We were very happy with our stay. The location was great. We were able to get to Murphy's in less than 5 min. The house is just up the hill from town. We had a nice private little apartment will all the fixings. The kitchen had all the dishware and supplies you might need, including condiments and spices. We have stayed at other VRBO's and had to go to the store to buy items that we would just have to lug home.
There was plenty of room for our dog kennels and nearby roads/areas to walk to toilet them. They even had two lovely donkeys right outside our room.
The hosts were available if needed, however the apartment and instructions were so well appointed we did not need to contact them.
This location is definitely a great place to consider when visiting Murphy's.
This was a nice place for my husband and I to get away and bring our dog. It was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. We have stayed at VRBO’s in the past that don’t have things like baggies or foil. They provided all those essentials, a little basket of snacks and good local coffee.
The king size bed is super comfy with decent pillows!
If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy eating or visiting outside this may not be the best choice for you as the porch area is very small. It worked for us because we took advantage of all the outdoor dinning and wine tasting in Murphys. We would definitely stay again.
Thanks for sharing your home.
Jessica made our stay really nice. Providing pantry items and farm fresh eggs from the free roaming chickens close by the entry is down the drive and around thee side of the main house and with the occasional sound upstairs we barely knew owners were there. My teenager loved full WiFi and TV access and I enjoyed the really nice landscaped short drives into town to cook in or to quick jaunt for some shopping or pub fare sunsets over the ridge and sunrise with fog through the porthole window we’re beautiful. My only suggestion is the electronic door lock was a bit hard and required us to lift and push the door and the entry could benefit from a step up to the door - only downside everything else was heaven including bed and linens provided! Will be back!
Loved this location - out of the way, but close to town. The owners are very nice and helpful and everything was as advertised. The residence itself was exactly as pictured in the photos and there were even fresh eggs from the owner's chickens in the fridge for us! Lots of nice touches. Perfect place to get away for some peace & quiet! The town of Murphys has plenty of good wineries, pubs and restaurants. Very quaint! The only 'cons' for me were unavoidable & nature- related. Because of the drought and it being July in California, all the ground vegetation, although mowed, was very dry and there were no grassy areas for my dogs. Also, there was the threat of mountain lions, so I kept my dogs leashed whenever outside. All else was great!
The Suite was as advertised a roomy and quiet place to relax with my dogs. We took many walks on the roads in the area. It was only a couple of miles from Murphys, a very cute village of vineyard tasting places and restaurants. The WiFi worked just fine.
If you're looking for a remote, clean, modern, country stay this place is perfect. It's on 5 acres about 5 minutes from downtown. So peaceful and quiet!
The rental was charming and well stocked. The scenery created a sense of calmness. The animals brought out a curious nature for our dog, Mason. It was wonderful escaping to this remote location and escaping the big city.

About the host
Hosted by Jessica and Anthony Delaney
Murphys is an amazing community nestled in the Sierra Foothills of Northern California. We are ten miles from Angels Camp and the world famous Calaveras Frog Jump that Mark Twain wrote about during his time spent in our area during his travels.
I have lived here since 2017 and have found my forever home. The local people are friendly, the wine is amazing, the restaurants are top notch and the hospitality is out of this world! I look forward to sharing my little slice of heaven with guests from all over the globe. My home sits on a beautiful 5 acre parcel just 7 mins drive from downtown. When you stay here, you will experience the peace and serenity, and still be so close to town that you can enjoy all that our community has to offer.
Why they chose this property
5 beautiful acres, trees, views.... What's not to love? You are welcome to walk down to the chicken coop and collect farm fresh, eggs in the morning, and sit out on the porch and watch the colorful sunsets in the evening. We are close to town, but just far enough away that you will feel like you are in your own private mountain sanctuary!
What makes this property unique
We are one of only a few vacation rentals in Murphys that allow dogs. I love to travel with my four legged best friend and want you to have that same luxury when you stay with me! We do have a 70lb weight limit and can accommodate no more than two dogs at a time. I do not charge a pet fee, I simply ask that you treat my home as if it were your own, clean up after your pet and be respectful. We do have wildlife in the area, so I ask that you never let your pets outside unsupervised and that they are always on leash. This is for their safety and yours.
