Come and live like the locals! Located steps away from Downtown Murphys, we welcome you to our cute little spot that is perfect for the vacationing pair to enjoy all that Murphys has to offer. Just mere steps from the home of over 22 wine tasting rooms, restaurants and shops, we are also located approx. 30 minutes away from beautiful Big Trees National Park, home to the largest living trees - the giant sequoias. Bear Valley Ski Resort is less than an hour away offering the perfect setting for the adventurer. Nearby Stanislaus River, Utica Lake, Union Lake, Spicer Reservoir and New Melones Lake offer fishing, hiking, swimming, boating or a picnic!

Begin and end your perfect, carefree retreat away from the day to day norms and "ughs" of the fast paced way of life!

What an adorable little spot and perfect to walk downtown. The hosts were also very responsive and able to answer any questions. If you are looking for a location close to downtown you can’t go wrong. So much nicer than a hotel and very clean.

Murphys is lovely. Walk to main st. Was easy. Place was great. Reason for 4 Star instead of 5 is the weird shower, especially the pan, and lack of lighting near the dining table separate from the overhead light that also shines right into the doorless bedroom. Since one of us gets up earlier than the other this didn't work for us

We had a wonderful stay at the Hillbilly Hideaway. The place was modern and well appointed, it was also very clean. The bed was only queen size but it was extremely comfortable, and we slept well both nights we were there. There was an air conditioner and fans. My wife loved the shower and how nicely it was designed. The place is a very short walk to downtown and the Murphy Hotel. Our host was friendly and accommodating. We would stay here again if we came back to stay in Murphy’s. Thanks!

The property was decorated very nicely and very conveniently located. We were able to walk to everything in downtown. Although the kitchen was well supplied, I would suggest a set of mixing bowls for cooking. The television streaming/cable was ineffective and provided limited viewing. Overall though, very cute place!

Such a great little gem! Clean, well appointed, and comfy. It was a perfect 2-night stay. Conveniently located and had everything we needed. Host is very responsive and everything is well-explained. Highly recommended!

Giving it five, but

It was really wonderful great place to stay. Our host were wonderful. Very clean and nice but the last night there my husband, I just want to relax before going home. The TV would not work properly. It would come on for about three minutes and then go to maintenance on and off on and off that was a little tough And I know it’s probably something that can be very easily fixed also which we didn’t need it the fan over the bed wouldn’t work. I don’t know if the remote needed batteries that we had the light switch on just a little thing but I’m still getting a five stars because it was very nice. It’s very close to downtown which was great.

Wonderful Adventure in Murphys

My wife and I had a great time in Murphys and it was all possible by staying at Hillbillies Hideaway! We made use of the full kitchen for all of our meals. The location is great, as it’s a short walk into Main Street Murphys and we were able to visit the downtown while it was bustling on Saturday. We loved our stay and will definitely be back!

This experience called for more!

Our whole experience with the Hillbilly Hideaway was excellent. Everything that was shown was there and more. It was a wonderful experience. The closeness to Main Street was great. We could easily walk to Main Street and then return for a short rest and then back again. I highly recommend this property for a great experience and total relaxation.

Perfect location, perfect cottage

This cottage is exactly what a couple needs for a long weekend. It was comfortable, had everything we needed and just a short walk from main street. We would stay here again.

Nice cozy place

Overall it was a nice little getaway spot, very clean and semi-private. Upon arrival we had a hard time getting into the property. I texted the owner and didn’t hear back. We finally were able to get in after multiple attempts. They did advertise a bbq however there was no propane with it. Also the internet was out for quite some time the second day we were there. Eventually coming back on later in the evening. The kitchen lacked a few basic essentials to use the oven. Other than that it was a great location, very close to downtown Murphy’s.

Great place in an ideal location!

This is the perfect spot for a couple. It’s in walking distance to Main St. in Murphy’s and is detached from the main home, so feels very private. Extremely clean, comfortable and very well-appointed. The hosts were also super responsive and accommodating. We’d definitely book again.
