Enjoy a Summer vacation, Winter retreat, Spring get away or a colorful Michigan Fall at this home away from home. Relax in Northern Michigan on Bear Lake in this 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house that can sleep up to 12. Perfect for the whole family!

A public boat launch just a mile away, so bring your boat and enjoy water sports and fishing. Or if the beach is more your style, a private beach is open to you and your guest and is within walking distance (about 100 yards). Canoeing and Kayaking is also nearby!

Enjoy the outdoors by grilling on the back deck or start a camp fire in the fire pit, perfect for roasting marshmallows and enjoying a nice summer night. The yard is large enough to play yard games or relax in the hammock under the shade tree.

We are located just off the ATV/Snowmobile trail. Perfect for snowmobiling in the winter or ATVs in the summer.

The local Ice Cream shop and the local bar are just up the road. Golf courses, casinos, wine tasting and shopping are close by - You are within 45 minutes of Traverse City, 40 minutes to Gaylord and 10 minutes to Kalkaska.

This home was perfect for our family vacation which consisted of my older sister, daughter and grandsons and us and our dog. The home was very large and had plenty of beds and bathrooms for all of us. The kitchen had a lot of amenities that made staying there perfect. We loved being just a short walk to a crystal clear lake and beach. There was plenty of shade to sit at the beach or on the backyard deck. The home was located close enough to the activities that we were looking to do in Traverse City, Elk Rapids and nearby. We went on a sailboat trip with the kids, to a bug and butterfly zoo, a yak farm and casino. Something for everyone. The beautiful lake was what I was hoping for and it didn't disappoint. Would definitely stay here again. Host was helpful, nice, and easy to reach. Check in was a breeze with a code to use for the door. Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home with all the taxidermy animals. The kids loved that.

Very welcoming home in wooded surroundings. Near many lakes and rivers. Our family vacation was spent here, and accommodations were exceptional. Definitely would recommend and would return.

Annual Sibling Canoe Trip

Our canoe trip legacy is 23 years old this year. This property was a great fit for base camp. We had great canoeing on the Manistee river, super comfortable lodging and the fire pit made memerable s'mores!

Ski Weekend Stay

The communication with the property owner was fantastic. It was a great property for our two families and all of our ski gear. The large mud room and laundry room right near the backdoor was perfect to store our ski bags with enough room for our boot dryers to get our ski gear ready for the next day. We enjoyed the spacious living area and large dining room table for all 9 of us to enjoy breakfast and dinner at. We loved the large table for playing games at also. Great spot for our ski weekend with two families, 5 teens and 4 adults. Would definitely recommend.

We took our family of 5 to stay here and it was not a disappointment in any way. We were thoroughly impressed by the warmly decorated and very well maintained cabin. It was very clean and had all anyone would need. The location was perfect as well with great pizza nearby. We will definitely be returning hopefully next year!

Wonderful stay!

My family and I had a great stay! The home had everything we needed. We enjoyed the lake and the grandkids had a blast with the little ATV. We adults played Cornhole every day. Overall a very comfortable home.

Great location and Well Stocked

This house is great for multiple couples. Had everything we needed and was well stocked. We fixed all of our breakfasts and dinners and had every kitchen utensil needed. Lots of small touches to make you feel at home. Plenty of towels. Located in a nice neighborhood and close to many ORV routes/trails.

Very Comfortable Cottage!

Your home is very nice and very comfortable for any size family. Having a separate bedroom for our boys was great! All the other accommodations inside the home (kitchen, dining area, multiple bathrooms, laundry area...) and use of the kayaks made our trip very pleasant! Everything we needed was there. We hope to return next year, if not sooner!

Family vacation

We had a great time! House was clean and comfortable, plus very roomy for 6 adults and our toddler granddaughter. Yard is large enough that we were able to have our ladderball, badminton/volleyball and cornhole games set up without being crowded. We spent time at the beach access which was very nice and a short walk from the house. We spent time in Kalkaska at the Cherry Street Market and at the local park so our granddaughter could play. We made sure to go to the ice cream shop too! We also went to Bellaire to the spice shop, the bakery and went to Seven Bridges Nature Park to walk the trail on our way back to Bear Lake. A beautiful hidden destination to enjoy the outdoors! The owners were attentive and very helpful. Would highly recommend staying here!

Loved it again!

We have now stayed 3 years in n a row at this property with our family of 12. We have plenty of room and love to bring up our side by sides for the big kids! The yard is perfect for the littles to run around and enjoy and we always feel very much at home!

Cottage off Bear Lake

This house was perfect for my family of 6! Everyone had their own space, and it was nice having three bathrooms each with showers. The kitchen was lovely. We really enjoyed the backyard space, and the toys that came with the house. My young boys loved riding around in the mini atv. We also enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board quite a bit. Overall, it was a great experience.

Fishing fun

Excellent location for fishing Bear Lake and surrounding lakes. Having beach access was great. The house was very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Having 3 full bathrooms with 10 people was a plus. Would recommend to anyone and would definately rent again.

Visit to Kalkaska

We had a great visit and the house was exactly what we expected. The owners were very attentive and available to answer any questions. The house was clean and the property was in a perfect location and private. We enjoyed the campfire 2 nights and we cooked on the grill. The house was very accommodating to a large family.

Bear cabin

Enjoyed our time at the cabin. It was a quick trip Up North from south of Atlanta GA. Managed to do Mackinaw Island, Traverse City, Petosky and so much more. Boys loved the lake and fire pit! Wish we had more time to enjoy the beautiful area.

We had a great family vacation, including the dogs! Everything was very nice and the family loved the beach! Kayaking was also lots of fun. Enjoyed the range of birds we saw from loons to eagles to Kingfishers. Heard the owl several times!! Great place to stay!!

Excellent Property and Host

This was an awesome house for our vacation to northern Michigan. The house very nice and the land itā€™s on is private. Allen was very proactive in communicating all the house had to offer and very thoughtful in having a kidā€™s play car charged and ready when we arrived. I think that may have been one of the best parts of the trip for my friendā€™s child! Overall would definitely recommend this place!

Winter visit

The home is beautiful and fits description. There were 9 of us and all fit comfortably in the house. Plenty of seating and we loved the big dining table for eating and games.. We brought sleds along, plenty of room in the driveway for parking of 3 trucks and trailers. Trails were able to be ridden to right from the house. Trails were groomed.. Allen was very kind and helpful. We would most certainly visit and stay again.

Amazing Stay

This house had everything we were looking for. We had from 80 years old to 11 months . Dinning room table was custom made. AMAZING Kitchen was stocked with every utensil I need to feed 14 people. very cozy. Kids watched movies while the adults played cards. Saturday we went on a color tour to tunnel of trees not too far away. I be this place is Great for hitting the trails

Nice House with Cabin Feel

Really nice home that gives you a great cabin feel. All the amenities were included ie; cooking utensils, bedding, firewood. A convenient location right off of M72 between Grayling and Kalkaska. Plenty of room for a large family or group of friends. The large kitchen table made from virgin timber is incredible! We would definitely stay again.

Peaceful up north get away

My family of 6 adults and 7 kids stayed at this gorgeous house. We all fit very comfortably! We were very impressed with the extra mattresses (just in case), extra pillows, and extra linens that were provided. When we arrived, everything was very clean and we couldnā€™t get over the immaculate dining table and wild animals that decorated the home! It was a very short walk to the gorgeous beach and all the neighbors that we came in contact with were very welcoming! The kids had a great time catching the brown trout in the canal. Over all, we had a great stay and would love to stay here again!
