This was our 2nd stay here and like before, we had a wonderful weekend! It's a beautiful and peaceful place. We enjoyed a fire on the covered patio each night. The bed was clean and comfy, the bathroom with heater is awesome! I always cook breakfast (at least), and the kitchen is very well stocked and items are clean. Highly recommend this place.

We loved this cabin! Sitting on the porch in the morning listening to the creek and the birds was so peaceful. It’s the perfect spot for a little getaway. We hope to return soon!

To Start, This Was One of Our Favorite Vacation Rentals to Date!! From the First Contact with the Owners, to the Day We Checked Out, Everything Was Wonderful and Smooth!! Our Family Truly Enjoyed Everything This Cabin Had to Offer as Well as the Area/Location Around It. One of My Favorite Parts of Our Stay This Year was the Mountain and River Views as Well as the Sounds of Nature. Thank You So Much for Such a Wonderful Place to Spend 7 Days of Vacation in the Mountains. It Was Truly a Welcoming Home…. We Didn’t Want to Leave!! We’d Love to Stay Again Sometime!!

Fantastic Restful Stay

This is always such a magical and restful place to stay. It has all the basic amenities you need, and once we settle in on the covered porch and look out on the majestic vista before us, a sense of peace settles in that remains for the entire stay. Such restful sleep and good times - we can't wait to visit again!

Wonderful stay!

The house was beautiful!! The location on the river was peaceful, the outdoor fireplace and porch was wonderful for the cool nights, and the entire home was well appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

Beautiful Property

We enjoyed our stay on this beautiful property. The owners were so helpful and made our stay very pleasant by telling us about area parks where we could hike and other things in the area to take advantage of. We absolutely loved the porch and the fireplace.

A great getaway!

This is our 4th time at this cabin and we enjoy it every time. The stillness, the trickling of the river and the birds flitting by the feeders just makes it such a nice place to be. The kitchen is very well equipped. The proximity to downtown West Jefferson and the state park, and a stop at Ingles makes it location most desirable. Would highly recommend.

Perfect Little Getaway!

Owl's Nest is the perfect little getaway if you are looking for some quiet time with the family. The river that runs in front of the cabin is gorgeous! The property owners are extremely helpful and offered great advice on things to do near by. We had snow during our stay and sitting in the kitchen of the cozy cabin while watching the snow really topped off a great weekend. We hope to be back in the spring or summer!

Stunning Property

We absolutely loved Owl’s Nest. The cabin was beautifully decorated and cozy. The outdoor fireplace and the stunning views of mountains and the river made our stay unforgettable. Our girls loved the hammock, exploring all the outdoors, and watching the deer walk through the woods each evening. My husband said this was his favorite cabin we have ever stayed in. Can’t wait to return.

Serenity

The cabin is wonderful. We loved the porch with the fireplace. We spent mostly all our time sitting in front of the fire, relaxing, talking and listening to the river and the birds. The provided baby gates for the porch is a great touch to help keep our fur baby on the porch. The cabin is in an absolutely peaceful location. We hope to return again.

A Little Piece of Heaven!

The scenery is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful! We loved the house. Clean and very well stocked. Loved the porch and the fireplace! We also enjoyed the creek that was close to the house! The sound was so relaxing! We can’t wait to come back!!! Laura and Roger are so nice and friendly!

Perfect place

This is our second stay here. It surely won't be our last. This is the most quiet, peaceful place we have ever stayed. My wife and I love waking up to bird song and river sounds instead of traffic noises. Everything you need is provided and we love the outdoor fireplace. I love being able to walk out and fish and have already spent hours in the river. We have land close by but until we can build this will be our home away from home.

Great stay

The property was just what we needed for a short stay before Christmas. The home was a perfect cozy size for my 2 sons, husband, and large dog. The river next to the house is beautiful and my sons were able to fish. We went into West Jefferson and enjoy a day in town. The highlights of the property are the fireplace, scenery and coziness of the home. You will have everything you need. It felt like visiting your grandmother’s home (and I mean that as a complete compliment). You immediately feel at home. I would love to come back in the fall to see the beautiful trees covered in leaves. Also, communication with the host was perfect. She was quick to respond and always gave us what we needed. She even stopped by while we were outside to provide recommendations. You won’t be disappointed if you book this home!

Our favorite place in the North Carolina mountains

My husband and I brought our children up here the first week of June, 2021 and literally fell in love with everything about this peaceful retreat. The owners are fantastic and go out of their way to be sure that you have everything you need and that you enjoy your stay. My husband and I typically go to different rentals every time we visit the high country. We just enjoy seeing different places, but this is the first location that we could not wait to come back to! Because of this, we booked this cabin for the second week of October. Our timing could not have been more perfect. The trees were ablaze with autumn color, and the weather could not have been more perfect for hiking, kayaking and enjoying nights by a roaring fire out on the expansive wrap around porch. There is no doubt that we will be back soon! We want to share this serene space with everyone we love! Thank you Laura and Roger for another wonderful stay. I’ll see you again in 2022!

Everything was awesome, we came up for a hunting trip on three top mountain 13mins from cabin. Even with bridge out to cabin the new road was smooth sailing to cabin with truck. We plan to come back next year.

Excellent property, beautiful view, clean home, private and very pet friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the outdoor porch was a big plus for my family. We had a fire every night and spent little time inside other than sleeping. Host were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place.
