A quiet rural retreat only 30 min from Salem. Set amongst rolling farmland off of a dead end road, the site is extremely quiet. The only thing you hear sitting out on the patio is the babbling brook. We've rented a lot of VRBO's over the years and Maureen is definitely the perfect host. The large, extremely well equipped kitchen even had a waffle maker and waffle mix that Maureen supplied. The refrigerator was full of milk, eggs, butter-all the things you needed to get started. No need to stop at a store on the way in for your first morning in the house. Maureen is only 5 minutes away and was intent on making your stay perfect. Savvy Google map users, will notice that there are a few other houses adjacent. These are homes of family members engaged in the running of the 900 acre tree farm. You never know they're there, and when you do bump into them, they're always extremely friendly. We had plenty of wildlife running through the backyard, including turkeys, quail, and deer. A downside is that although this house is on a large farm, you can't explore the farm without an escort. It's probably an insurance thing, or maybe past renters spoiled it for everybody. Another minor disappointment is that you can't get down to the little brook; the banks are choked with wild berries that have thorns, making them impossible to penetrate. Sofia you're looking for some peace and quiet, with the big city in easy driving distance, this is your place. Just book it...
