What makes this cabin unique

We strive to maintain a very clean, comfortable, and amenity rich vacation/weekend getaway experience for our guests. Many of our guests return time and time again! Though most guests come from the Washington DC METRO area, some have come from as far away as England, and Alaska! We absolutely love to read the guest journal when we arrive at the cabin! It makes us so happy to hear all about the wonderful adventures and quality family time our guests had experienced! Since we are a dog friendly rental, we also get to read all about the exciting escapades of our canine friends! We have a Boxer who absolutely loves playing fetch in the river, and long walks down the beautiful country lanes.

Whether you are looking for a romantic weekend getaway, or a week-long family vacation, we are completely confident that our cabin will exceed your expectations. Truly, no disappointments here folks! We hope you'll consider us when you decide to book your next family vacation, or romantic weekend escape!

Sincerely,

Eric and Megan

Guestbook comments from the owner

We have returned to Lazy Days for our 12th visit. We were delighted to see the new screened in porch! It has added an entirely new dimension to our stay. We spent much of our time there enjoying the sights, sounds, and smells of this countryside (without the presence of those pesky insects that plague us!). The furniture is beautiful and comfortable. We could watch the wildlife more intently as it seems they could not see us as well. Molly is now 14 years old and sleeps a lot, but she would come alive as soon as she saw the leash come out. She had the stamina of a puppy on our long walks, which was very nice to see. As always, we enjoy the comfort of this home and think of it as our second home. It was also nice to see all the regulars at Tari's. They treat us so kindly! We regret having to leave but are already planning a return trip in October. Thank you again for the beautiful addition.

Pleasant Stay

  • 4 of 5

Spent a pleasant and comfortable weekend at Lazy Day despite the 95-100 degree weather. The cottage was clean, nicely furnished and well-equipped. No need for the hot tub but the screened porch provided a temporary escape from the air conditioner. There is plenty to do if you're a hiker, cyclist, or just enjoy hanging out.

Great way to spend long weekend

  • 4 of 5

We rented this cabin with another family. It was perfect for a long weekend. Every need was met. Clean accommodations, great area. It was a great way to unwind. Do not expect cell service not reliable internet. Expect to unplug and relax. The screened porch was great for morning coffee.

Thanksgiving family getaway

  • 5 of 5

This was a half way point to meet our son, daughter-in-law & grand kiddos (6, 2-1/2) for an extended Thanksgiving weekend. We've rented &leased homes all across our country and in Europe and I can confidently say this home is the most COMPLETELY user ready and user friendl we've encountered. They have everything imaginable and even some appliances you won't need! The home is clean, cozy, and completely stocked with necessities and extras. The beds are comfortable, everything works and the setting rocks. We enjoyed walks in the woods, playing down by the river, visiting the local fish hatchery, evenings in the hot tub.... everything was super! We definitely shall return in the near future!

Girls Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My 3 daughters, 2 granddaughters, and I stayed at Lazy Day River Retreat when we visited Berkley Springs. The house was wonderful! Three nicely furnished bedrooms with extremely comfortable beds refreshed us each night. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need and was clean, clean, clean. Friday we went to Cacapon State Park and rode horses and when we got back to the house we climbed into the hot tub to relax our tired muscles. It was super clean with no strong smell of chemicals and just the right temperature. We sat there, talked, and enjoyed the views of nature. Saturday it rained most of the day BUT we found Downton Abbey in the extensive video library--there's something for everyone and lots of new releases. Someone finally pried the control from my hand and we left Downton for Grand Torino. Ate at the Panorama Restaurant and returned for another session in the hot tub and a cozy fire in the fireplace. Did I tell you how much I enjoyed the hot tub? The house is in a private neighborhood with very few neighbors, an extremely large lot with pawpaw trees and a wrap-a-round deck with table, chairs and, yes, a great hot tub! I like to go barefooted in the house and the carpets were clean and super soft! The hardwood floors were shiny and smooth but not slippery. If you are going to the state park from the house, take Cold Valley Road--it is a scenic shortcut. I can't wait to go back!

Very Pleasantly Surprised

  • 5 of 5

When we started looking for a place to go for our anniversary we only had a very limited list of must haves. One was someplace we could take our dogs, have a hot tub, and be away from a lot of people. We were blown away with how great this place was. It was very clean and well taken care of. It was very nice having an ice maker that could keep up. The newer kitchen appliances were great. The Cuisinart ice cream maker will definitely get used the next time. We hadn't even left and were planning our return trip! The directions were great for getting there too. Unfortunately for us we followed our GPS though and it was off a few houses and it took us in different from the directions. It was easily corrected though by driving just a little further down. We enjoyed the cat that came to visit from next door but she didn't seem to understand when why we wouldn't invite her in. We tried explaining that there were no cats allowed! She didn't seem to mind the dogs at all either. It was nice sitting in the hot tub and watching the deer go through the woods. I can't wait to go back again!

Great

  • 5 of 5

I looked for cabins for probably 8 hours prior to booking this cabin. I wanted a place that had the cabin feel with mountain views. I chose lazy days due to its great reviews and I could not have been happier. The cabin was warm and gave us the cabin feel we were looking for. There was a fire starter and unlimited firewood at our disposal. It snowed and was approximated 10 degrees one day, and the fireplace kept the cabin very warm. The hot tub was great and te house was stocked very very well. The community the cabin was situated was perfect. There was a beautiful river and tons of walking opportunities while looking at the mountains. It was close to berkley springs which was a neat town. There were probably close to 100 DVDs stocked at the house and one day we sat by the fire and watched DVDs nearly all day. When we arrived, there was a bottle of Champagne waiting on us; from start to finish, I could not be happier with our stay and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone.
