Relájese en el gran porche con techo abovedado azul cielo en este bonito y luminoso bungalow restaurado de una planta de 1930 que llamamos WaveHaven Cottage! Situado en el casco antiguo de Carolina Beach, esta casa de playa única es una espaciosa de 1532 pies cuadrados. Las características incluyen techos abovedados, chimenea de piedra, 12 'x 20' pantalla porche de cocina, 10 'x 12' porche cubierto, terraza con ducha al aire libre y parrilla de gas, grandes mesas de interior y al aire libre, pisos de madera y baldosas, quemador de gas 5 cocina, horno de pared y microondas, dos lavabos / bañera y ducha en el baño principal, dormitorio principal separado de otras habitaciones, completamente renovado, re-conectado y cuenta con nuevo sistema de calefacción y aire. Picaportes de puertas de vidrio, herrajes de bronce originales, iluminación antigua, techos de madera abovedados, pisos de roble y ventanas grandes añaden encanto. ¡Fácil caminata de 3-1 / 2 a 4 cuadras (media milla) a la hermosa playa, supermercado, bares, restaurantes y paseo marítimo! Updated cottage

We had a most relaxing stay, and enjoyed the location as we could walk to the beach and restaurants. A charming home; well kept and maintained. The porch was exceptional!

Simply Perfect Place to Stay

This is one of the nicest houses we have ever stayed in. While unassuming from the outside, the inside of the home is beautiful and quite spacious. We especially enjoyed the screened porch and the many books available to us! Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!

Well appointed cottage in great location

If you want to feel welcome in a rental, stay at WaveHaven. The owners have gone way beyond the standard to accommodate their guests. Everything in the home is top of the line, beds are comfortable, place is spotless, lots of room, quiet neighborhood, excellent communication, and easy access to everything in Carolina Beach. We took our two grandchildren for a long weekend and tea ll loved it. Highly recommend.

Everything was great!

The house was full of everything you may want. Clean and updated home. Location was within walking distance of everything we wanted. Nice outdoor space. But our favorite spot was the screen porch. Besides sleeping, we spent all time at the house out there.

A hidden gem in Carolina Beach

Well stocked, comfortable beds, close proximity to fun yet quiet street. The place is wonderful. Walk in showers, an outdoor shower. Weber grill, hammock, bikes to use. Incredible eclectic art decor. Great book collection. Screened in porch. This place is a hit! Loved it!

This 1930s house has the newest of indoor fixtures: large showers, 2 sink bathroom, Kohler water system, new kitchen appliances. My wife said "Our best VRBO ever." We stayed here 2 years ago and were so happy with the home, the location, amenities, and the homeowners that we came back again. The return visit did not disappoint. The homeowners are very accommodating. The home is very clean, spacious, screened back porch, and has a well-supplied kitchen. The walk to restaurants, the boardwalk, and the beach is very easy. Beautiful home, wonderful stay

This home is beautifully decorated, and the owners have impeccy taste. The homeowners were kind and very helpful, always in contact to answer any questions, and even provided a list of recommended activities and restaurants. The stay included all the amenities one could ask for, and the home manages to be cozy, comfortable, and conveniently located on close proximity to basically everything. Only a fifteen minute drive to Ft. Fisher State Park, and about 20 minutes to Wilmington, while still within walking distance to the boardwalk and beach access at Carolina Beach. We plan to visit again at some point in the future.

Wonderful updated bungalow

The property is just beautiful and so well kept! The backyard has a fire pit and hammock and was perfect for relaxing and having s’mores, there were bikes available for use and the inside looked so spacious because of updating. We had plenty of closet space and the kitchen is beautiful and easy to navigate. I love that there is a mud room also with a large sink so you don’t track sand throughout the house. The outside shower was fantastic and the kids used it to hose off so we didn’t track anything in. All together I highly recommend for families and children over the age of 3!

Beautiful House Close to the Beach

This house was really beautiful and fully stocked. The kitchen had any appliance and utensil you might need and the beds were all extremely comfortable. We drove to the beach access less than 5 minutes away and this worked out well for us. The only issue we had the whole time were the ants. We began noticing ants on the outside of all three vehicles parked in the grass, and by the last day of the trip there were hundreds of ants in each of our cars. I had to deep clean my car when I got home and put several ant traps inside my car in order to get rid of all of them. I would advise that you don't park in the grass and try to stay in the street if possible. Otherwise, the trip was great and the hosts were extremely responsive and helpful.

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately, ants are a part of Carolina Beach in the summer, but we have never had a problem with them in cars until you reported it to us this year. We are sorry they were a bother, but you can see from prior reviews that you are the first renters that have reported them getting in cars. We have the house treated for insects on a consistent basis and have now asked the exterminator if there is anything that can be done about ants in the yard. At this point, as you suggest, parking on the side of the street might be a better option for our future guests, although we have always parked in the yard ourselves. It must be a particularly bad year for ants, but rest assured we will check into any options for control possible. We think that perhaps they are falling from the crepe myrtle tree, but it is so beautiful, we hate to consider taking it down. We will continue to monitor the situation and actually have family going there next week that will keep us informed. Again, thanks for letting us know about this unforeseen issue. We are on it!

Girls Weekend Getaway

We could not have picked a better place to stay. This house is amazing…….CLEAN, beautifully decorated and well stocked. We loved having bikes readily available and there’s a fantastic hammock in the backyard. Fantastic location: just a short walk to the beach and restaurants. We’ll definitely be returning.

Grandparents, parents and grandson had a wonderful relaxing week in this special place. The beds are super comfortable and the new/modern kitchen was made good use of by grandma. The yard was well cared for and perfect for a 2yr old to run around in an explore. There was lots of signs of the real age of the property but not in a bad way. It made you feel like you were at a place that had been passed down through a family and well maintained. Truly this is a gem VRBO if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing time at the beach.

Great house

The house was very clean and we loved the layout. The back covered porch with the fan was very nice. Even in the hot days of late June, it was very cool. The back yard with the fire pit and hammock were also great. The kitchen is very well laid out to accommodate a big group. The bathrooms were all very nice and renovated. The back shed has beach supplies and bicycles. The house is located about a 7 minute walk or so to the beach and the strip of Carolina Beach. Close to all the bars and restaurants. We would absolutely stay here again

Cozy home with all the amenities

My family stayed at this adorable cottage in June 2021. The house is well loved and very well taken care of. The cleanliness was impeccable. The home was beautifully decorated to help us feel right at home. Screened in porch, cozy hammock and outdoor shower made the stay awesome. The walk to the beach is several blocks but you’re right in the heart of Carolina Beach boardwalk.

Amazing stay near Carolina Beach, cook's dream

Wonderfully restored and decorated bungalow near Carolina Beach. Everything exactly as described. Owners very quick to respond. Great location for a relaxing family getaway to the beach! Lots of classic and notable books to choose from, if you have the time to enjoy them. Kitchen had everything needed and then some! Comfortable beds and cozy well-appointed atmosphere.

Great stay despite the HURRICANE

We loved the home, the location, and the process couldn’t have been smoother. Unfortunately we were there the week of the hurricane and the whole street lost power for 36+ hours so we had to cut our stay short by a couple days. The owner was responsive and helpful with our needs, and couldn’t have been better to work with. He communicated to VRBO and refunded the two nights we lost because of the power. The house was perfect for us, and we will definitely look at returning in the near future

Excellent location and most beautiful place we’ve stayed!

Bob was great to work with. When we arrived, we felt as if we were walking into a B&B. The home was clean, decorated beautifully, and was stocked with more than we could think of. The walk to the beach and market was very easy. Due to Covid, we stayed in mostly for meals. The kitchen was a joy to cook in as it had EVERYTHING! We look forward to going back as this was one of the best places we’ve booked!

Weekend family getaway

Our family of 6 had a wonderful stay! The cottage was extremely clean and the owners very responsive. The screened-in porch was fantastic. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the porch and playing card games. We enjoyed the bikes and playing games in the yard.

Carolina Beach Visit

Wonderful house, in a wonderful location. No need to drive since restaurants , bars , and the beach are all walking distance. The house was wonderful , every aspect ....kitchen, bathrooms, WiFi......etc. was a perfect visit. Sad it had to end.

Bob grew up in Washington state and Tennessee, and has a degree in building construction from Georgia Tech. Eldred grew up in Georgia, went to school at Georgia State, Furman and BU. He is an art educator.

We fell in love with Carolina Beach 10 Year’s ago: eclectic, reminds us of old beach towns. An afternoon at the Tiki Bar above the waves is unforgettable, as is Britt’s donuts on the boardwalk. Movies are shown outside by the town in the summer, and if you get bored with the beach, it is a short ride to historic Wilmington. The inland waterway is fun, if you have a boat, or boats can be rented. Take the ferry over to South Port, a beautiful little town on the water.
