Thanks for your review. We ask our renters to leave our home as they found it. Since everyone has a different idea of cleanness we have a cleaning and inspection service come and spend three hours bringing our home up to our standards. This provides a consistent level of cleanness for all renters. We will better clarify this in our information packet so future renters will understand that our home receives a complete, professional cleaning between each renter.

We take issue with all the negative comments in this review. First off this renter did not contact us until AFTER they had left our home. They told us they were going to write a review that would be negative because they “claimed” that they encountered roaches. They asked what could we do for them so they wouldn’t write a negative review. We took it to mean they were holding us hostage looking for financial compensation so they wouldn’t write a negative review. We refused to deal with them in this way. Let me first tell you what they left behind for us to deal with so you can better judge their truthfulness. They removed our tv and Roku remotes and refused to tell us what they did with them. This rendered our tv useless for the next renter. By the time we were able to secure new remotes the next renter’s week had passed. First off the renter’s big issue…the roaches. We opened up our home for the season two weeks before their arrival. We spent eight days doing numerous projects outside and inside our home. This included spraying Ortho ant and roach killer spray around the outside perimeter of the house and then along all the interior baseboards. We then had professional cleaners come in two days before the renter’s arrival and do a season opening professional cleaning. The cleaning consists of SIX hours of a complete cleaning of our home. The cleaners reported finding two dead roaches but NO live roaches. The cleaners told me this is typical of what they find in a spring cleaning Vineyard home. Subsequent to this renter leaving we had the professional cleaners come in and do a turnover cleaning between renters which lasts three hours long. The cleaners reported siting no roaches dead or alive. This renter claimed in their review to have sent us pictures of the roaches but they never did. This claim is an absolute lie on their part. We therefore dispute this renter actually encountered any roaches. We provide a detailed information packet one month before a renter’s arrival. We responded to their first contact within 24 hours indicating we would investigate their concerns. We then responded two days later with essentially what you have read. Before our second response they wrote several threatening emails to us increasing their threats to write a bad review. We ask you to dismiss this review. The rest of our reviews are sterling and are the correct representation of us and our home. Thank you for reading this rebuttal.
