Charming 2-bedroom steps from the Eastern Promenade

Portland's East End has the charm of a small town, amazing views of the ocean, delicious restaurants, and is just a short walk into town. Enjoy it all from this sun-filled, lovingly maintained duplex at the top of Munjoy Hill. Relax in the lush backyard, spend the day at East End Beach or walk into town for a night out. This is a great place to enjoy all that Portland and Maine has to offer in the summer.

This duplex was built in the 1850's as one of the first houses at the top of Munjoy Hill. Each side feels like its own single-family home with its own entrance, first floor living room/kitchen with deck off the back, and second floor bedrooms and bathroom. No noisy neighbors stomping around above you in a duplex. You'll still feel the history in the short basement (if you do laundry), but the rest of the house has been updated to modern standards.

Small but cozy for the long weekend we stayed. We comfortably fit two couples and a toddler. The close proximity to the eastern promenade and playgrounds was amazing for my son. We were walkable to several restaurants and even walked to old port since the weather was so nice. Everything was clean and thoughtfully laid out with towels, blankets and some fresh flowers in the kitchen. Check in and check out was a breeze. Would stay again!

We had a wonderful stay on Munjoy Hill. The proximity to the park was perfect. We enjoyed a beautiful sunrise and an afternoon reading. The dogs loved it too. The location was amazing as well and walkable to everything on the peninsula. We walked to restaurants, the ferry and to a concert. Thank you for a memorable week in Portland!

Location was great! Old property that needs some updating and attention. It’s really only sleeps 4, 5th person was on air mattress or couch. Basic amenities were missing (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, etc). Plenty of towels and linens. Outside area was not suitable for hanging out…very dirty and old furniture. Deck area needs reinforcing. Overall the house needs a deep clean and much needed attention (mold in bathroom, no screens, etc). This was a girls weekend and location was perfect for us but wouldn’t return.

The overall house and sleeping arrangements were great. You can't beat the location either being central to Portland and right near the water. The owner was very responsive and was very accommodating to the small issues we had during the stay. I would highly recommend staying here if you're planning a trip to Portland.

All the comforts of home

The place was perfect! It was cozy and had everything we needed and the location was perfect! We took our dog for a walk in the morning and the afternoon at the park which was so close. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location!

We loved our getaway to Portland. We were visiting for a college friends wedding, and it was a perfect home base. I loved how close we were to the ocean/eastern prom and would often bring my coffee there int he mornings! Would stay again.

Great Spot Near East End Promenade

Great location near the Eastern Promenade and beach, easily walkable to Wharf Street, Congress Street, and other parts of the city. We loved the off street parking and fenced back yard, perfect for dog owners looking to enjoy Portland.

Walking distance to eastern promenade and the ocean - check in was easy and space was clean. Great for my parents dog to stay as well with the carpeted stairs and the outdoor space. Highly recommend!
