Very unique property tucked in a secluded area on the lake. The place was clean and furnished with everything we needed for our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Our adult family enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Luckily, the weather cooperated and it wasn’t too warm within or outside the cabin. We rented the Johnson pontoon during our stay and enjoyed “boating” around the small lake, anchoring in the middle to eat lunch every day. My only complaint was that we didn’t take the time to fish from the pontoon or docks; I was looking forward to that activity - maybe the next trip. Our two dogs also enjoyed the cabin, grounds, and pontoon. Our host, Mr. Johnson, was very responsive to my many emails before and during our time at the cabin; thanks much for your assistance and thanks for a very pleasant stay.

House is amazing and unique with the eagles nest and downstairs apartment. Fishing was fantastic. Having the pontoon made it great for lake cruises, swimming, and fishing. Close enough to shopping if you need to get supplies. Definitely will stay here again.

We loved this stay! We have visited many lake homes over the years with our adult kids, and this was the first time our kids said we need to book this one again! Beautiful view from the deck, crows nest and the amazing sun room! There were three very separate sleeping areas which was perfect for our three couples, and the additional beds will work well for us as our family grows. It was just the best!

We enjoyed a great week with our three-generation family (ages 4-67) at Falconhurst. It is a beautiful property on a beautiful lake, and we would stay here again.

Annual Family Vacation

This property is beautiful. Multiple rooms and levels provided so much space for our large family gathering. We all loved picking fresh raspberries daily as they are in abundance throughout the property. Fabulous views of the lake in the house and from multiple decks.

Lovely location and house

We enjoyed our stay. We especially liked playing cornhole and having evening fires in the firepit. The pontoon and kayaks were great too.

Wonderful hosts and beautiful house on lake. We enjoyed the fishing and peace and quiet for our family gathering of 11 including children. Hoping to come back next year!

Cozy and Secluded on a lake

Nice and clean with plenty of rooms and decks, big lot with privacy. The host was Very accommodating. Highly recommended.

Large family vacation

We had so much fun on our vacation!! There was plenty of space inside and out for our family of 11 amd 2 large dogs. The kids loved exploring the mowed trails in the yard and all the different rooms inside.

Charming and unique property! We enjoyed the clean and quiet lake for tubing, fishing, swimming, and sunset rides. Definitely would recommend to anyone.

Great spot on a quiet little lake. The house is fairly large and has an interesting layout. Lots of smaller spaces to retreat to. The pontoon started easily every time. The lake is clear and cool even in August. No good spot to swim from shore or the dock, too weedy. Great views of the water.

Amazing property, great lake for fishing and swimming

This is an amazing property, with plenty of spaces in the cabin and outside to spread out. The cabin was clean and well equipped. The rooftop deck was a great spot for sunrise/sunsets. The lake was very clean, but it isn't a large lake. We had a fabulous time and will definitely return!

Beautiful and Private

The location of this quaint cabin is outstanding. Private, on a hill overlooking the beautiful (and not overly busy) Lake Placid. The fireplace and sun room are outstanding. The kitchen and bath are dated - but everything worked, which is most important. Sauna was great as well.

Great House

We enjoyed our time at Placid Lake. Falconhurst was a great cabin. We had 9 people and we all fit well and had plenty of space. The pontoon boat was a fun addition and made for some very fun days on the lake. The lake was quiet and really enjoyable. We were able to catch several fish right from the dock.

Amazing Family Vacation

We had a fantastic family vacation at Falconhurst! The home accommodations were perfect for our 11 family members. We enjoyed fishing from the dock and from the pontoon boat. The grandkids especially loved swimming in the lake. We were visited by bald eagles and loons often and enjoyed the quiet of this private lake. The kitchen was well stocked with what we needed. We will definitely be making this our annual family vacation spot! Such a great place!

Quiet Cabin Getaway

Falconhurst is a great weekend getaway for a group of friends! The area is quiet and the lake is great for swimming, canoeing and kayaking. The cabin has lots of charm and lots of seating for a larger group. The sun room is great for relaxing, playing games or drinking morning coffee with views of the lake. The rooftop deck is amazing for star gazing. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and utensils, we had no problem cooking meals. The sauna is a nice option.

Unique lake house on a smaller sized,beautiful quiet lake

Our family enjoyed our stay here. Some areas of the cabin could have been cleaner is why I gave a lower score. We liked the outside decks all offering a nice view of the lake. The lake water was very clean and we enjoyed the use of the pontoon boat each day for fishing, swimming and night cruises. The kitchen had all the essentials you need for making meals. We enjoyed the coffee shop and donut shop a lot in Ironton.

Thanks again for being great guests. I am sorry about the areas of the cabin that could have been cleaner. If you are referring to the mouse droppings in the kitchen cupboards and bathroom, I am sorry that happened. We hired a service to resolve the mouse issue. I learned mice intrusion has been a problem throughout the whole region this summer, with many houses affected that have never experienced this problem before. I assure you this will not be an issue if you decide to book again.

Placid lake love

This was one of the most architecturally interesting, tastefully decorated, and well-provisioned cabins we have ever stayed in. We loved the lake, the pontoon and kayaks, all the different deck areas and indoor nooks and hangout spaces. The sauna worked great and it was so refreshing to jump in the lake after heating up. The kitchen was well-provisioned. We saw and heard loons, a beaver dam, and we caught a northern pike! We’ll definitely consider staying here again.
