810 BEACH RETREAT, Great patio - steps to the beach!

Welcome to Mission Beach Tropical Retreat, our vacation rental home in Mission Beach, San Diego, California. Just steps from the Bay, Ocean and Belmont amusement park.

In June, July and August - this property is normally rented by the week with Saturday check-ins (some exceptions may apply).

This upgraded lower unit is a 2-bedroom 2-bath beach unit equipped with amenities to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Our specialty is catering to families! The unit is set-up to sleeps up to 6 guests with a maximum occupancy of six (6). This tropical themed unit has a fully-equipped kitchen, cable TV, and dedicated parking (one space only). The unit has two (2) full beds in bedroom #1 and a queen in bedroom #2.

All the amenities for enjoying the beach are included - beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, as well as a variety of beach toys for the little ones. The large patio area is an exclusive space for the unit and includes patio table seating for six (6) and a gas grill. Guests also have free use of the washer and dryer which is on-premises.

Free wireless internet is also available.

This adorable beach home is in new condition. As previously mentioned, during the summer months (June, July & August) we prefer a seven-day minimum (turn-over day is Saturday, which means you are checking in and out on Saturday). Rentals longer than 7-days are available. One uncovered parking space on premise.

Mission Beach is one of San Diego's premier beaches. Stroll down to the beach boardwalk where you can roller blade, walk, jog, bike, or just hang out to watch the people go by. If calmer water is your preference head down to the bay to access multiple activities such as sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, or jet skiing. The bay is perfect if you have small children. Belmont Park Amusement Center is about 150 yards away for kids to indulge upon when not basking in the sun or playing on the beach. Just the two of you, have an enchanting evening on the beach at multiple conveniently located eateries. Just to the north you will find many Mission Beach landmarks such as the Crystal Pier, or the World Famous Restaurant (I recommend the omelets for breakfast); stop at the Lahaina Beach Bar (great patio deck overlooking the beach) for burgers and beer. And within walking distance in Belmont Park, you can't beat Cannonball for the beach vibe, food and cocktails!

Many San Diego's attractions such as Sea World, the Downtown Gaslamp District, Old Town San Diego, Seaport Village, Petco Park, and the world famous San Diego Zoo, are a short drive away. Enjoy an evening cruise on the Bahia Belle, a 'Turn of the Century' style Mississippi-style sternwheeler boat featuring dancing, live music, and cocktails while cruising the bay adjacent to your private vacation home.

The location was perfect! It was a short walk to the bay, the beach, and Belmont park, yet still a quiet little courtyard area. Pictures were accurate and the unit was very clean! When we had something come up, Art was quick to respond. We will definitely be staying here again!

Lovely position, close to the beach

The only thing that would have made this better would have been if it was on the beach. It was a 150m walk to the beach and maybe 100 m to the bay. Traffic could be a bit noisy if sitting outside (which we did every evening), but it wasn’t a problem. Unit was clean, beds were comfortable. Perfect for 4 people, would have been cramped with 5 or 6. I will certainly use this property again if we return to San Diego.

Even better than expected!

My family of 5 had an absolute blast here! The home looked and smelled clean when we walked in the door. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. There were some noisy evenings since you're so close to Belmont Park, but they noise always shut down at a reasonable hour so you could sleep. The location is fantastic. You're steps away from the Bay or the surf beach. Karrie was always great to deal with. You won't be disappointed!

First off the location is great. The low rating is: this place must have been finished from Goodwill. Everything 1/2 worked. The toaster only on one side. The coffee Luke warm. Knives dullAmenities: stated spice. Nope nothing. Furniture old and outside only plastic Internet stopped working. A gave up telling the owner the problems. She stopped answering me too. The bathroom sink stopped was broken had to take it out myself, otherwise the sink unusable. No hairdryerNo shampooNo sower anything. If I have to read the amenities too a 7th degree. I should not have rented. Just for the price, must be better. But it's not.

Lovely, centrally placed, clean

This was our second time staying in this unit. It is perfectly located, being 2 minutes walk from the beach and 1 minute walk to the bay. There are a plethora of restaurants, ice cream shops, coffee shops and bike and equipment rental places within easy walking distance. The unit is small, but perfect for up to 4 adults. More may feel a bit crowded, but with its proximity to the beach and bay, why would you want to be inside for more than sleeping. While the finishes are a bit dated, everything is clean and well maintained. The patio is pleasant. We pretty much cooked and ate outside every meal. It is well appointed with everything you need (towels, pots pans, cutlery and crockery etc.) As with everywhere in San Diageo, the parking is tight, if you have a large vehicle. I have a full size truck, which fit in ok, but getting it in took a bit of effort. We had a great time, and will be back.

Great place to stay for family

We are a family of 4 with kids that are 4 and 6 years old. We stayed on the lower level of this property. I loved that there was no key needed to get into the property. You don’t know how many times I’ve lost a key or had to mail back a key I packed home!! 1 less thing to worry about. The property was so clean too. We only used the microwave a couple times since we mainly ate out. There were lots of restaurants nearby with delicious food! We really enjoyed the location. The bay and beach were both quick walks. There were beach chairs and plenty of beach toys for us. The driveway is a bit tight but we had a rental SUV fit fine. The owner Ronni was so responsive too. Any questions or problems she responded right away. The only negative I can think of was that the houses were very close together so you could hear everything the neighbors were doing. There were maybe 2 nights while we were there that the neighbors partied past midnight. Luckily my kids were able to sleep through it. Otherwise it remained mostly quiet. If I were to come back I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Great location. Property could use better upkeep.

We stayed here because it was the only rental I could find on Mission beach for our dates. This property had a great location, about a 2-3 minute walk to Mission Bay and a 4 minute walk to the ocean. The property itself was a perfect size for my family of 4 but I wouldn’t really try to fit any more in than that. This place is in pretty rough shape though and the listing photos don’t quite capture what the place looks like I person. It doesn’t look like very much was done to it since the early 1980s. The kitchen sink is all rusty and gross, the bathrooms were not great. There were ants all over the kitchen as soon as any prepackaged snacks were placed on the counter. We ended up just eating out pretty much every meal because of this. The property also has no curb appeal, lots of rotten wood, rust and not a single plant anywhere. You can walk down the street this house is on and pretty much every other house has plants, nice furniture, fire pits etc. so it is a shame that this one is kept up so poorly.

Great location!

My husband, myself and our 17 year old son and his friend had plenty of room. Beds were comfortable and house was very clean. My favorite thing about this beach house is it is in perfect walking distance to the bay and the beach. We rented bikes and rode up to La Jolla, we had our own paddle boards so we would paddle every morning and at sunset, even paddled during the full moon. SeaWorld had fireworks the entire week we were there and we would sit at the bay and watch. It's a gem and we made some great memories on Jamaica Court! We will return!

Perfect location

This is the perfect location for your stay in Mission Beach. Walking distance to great restaurants: Luigis, ceviche and beer, the bay is a 2 minute walk, the beach 7 minute walk. You can see sea world’s fireworks every night at 8:50 from the bay, and sunsets at the beach. The house does not have AC and this week it was humid and hot. There are ceiling fans in the bedrooms and dining room, 2 other fans that we kept in the living room until we went to bed and and the other we kept in the bedroom. Those were lifesavers but still pretty warm at night even with the windows open. Karrie responded quickly with remotes, water pressure in the shower issues , and a roku. Also lots of flies outside on the patio too. We would return here and hope for cooler weather and less flies.

Beach Vaycay

The condo exceeded my expectations! Clean and tidy on arrival, much bigger then I expected! The guest room has a full bath on suite and 2 full sized beds with plenty of room to move around. The common space is huge and comfy. We liked the patio - could use more plants and better seating - but steps to beach or bay and all the eats. Rent bikes, and chillax a bit! On sit laundry and parking - Huge Bonus! 5 stars all the way for an affordable, easy going stay! Thank you Jamaica Court, we made memories and had do much fun

Spacious and close to beach

Great location - quick 5 min walk to the beach and even closer to the bay. Spacious unit with large kitchen and livingroom for our whole family to hang out. Also has one parking space that had more than enough room for our large SUV (Infiniti Qx80). If I had any suggestions it would be to bring your own towels...they are provided but are hotel grade and not the greatest (maybe I am a towel snob).

Convenient location- bay & beach

We stayed over the craziest weekend for sure ( 7/4 ), however, the calm came after the storm and we were able to have a nice week. Amazing location close to beach and bay. Owner was fabulous and easy to communicate with. Lower level unit had ample supplies and access to convenient laundry/storage room. My recommendation would be more fans in the unit to cool it down and circulate the air- bedrooms & living area.

Mission Beach Stay

We enjoyed our stay very much! My grandsons, 4 and 2, had such a good time! Very clean throughout, comfortable beds, convienent to restaurants, grocery and drug stores. The laundry room and parking space were a plus! A short walk to the bay, ocean and Belmont Park. We used the BBQ and grilled hotdogs one evening and enjoyed the patio area. Thank you Ronni and Art! We had a wonderful time!

I purchased this vacation rental because I enjoy being around the beach. Whether swimming, running the boardwalk, kayaking around the bay, or enjoying the many fine restaurants, Mission Beach is a fun place to visit year-round.

Why they chose this property

I wanted a location that was centrally located between the beach, bay, and Belmont Park. I also wanted a location that was reasonably quiet, not too close to the amusement park or the boardwalk. Luckily, I found a property where I could be at the bay, beach or park, in less than two minutes of walking. Many of my guests have praised the outstanding location. Families enjoy the quietness, safety, and convenience of the location.

What makes this property unique

Guests enjoy outdoor gas grills provided for each unit. In addition, beach toys, coolers, beach chairs and towels are provided for the guests enjoyment during their stay. Besides the spacious accommodations, guests come back for repeat visits because of the individual care and attention that they receive during their visits. I also enjoy surfing, kayaking, and swimming in the ocean. My property provides a nice, convenient, centrally located site to stage my gear for all water activities.
