Perfect Fall Weekend

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very nice and clean and very well furnished. There were 4 adults and 5 teenagers and we all had a fabulous time! The view of the river was amazing and the kids were on the two rope swings almost non-stop. It was very quiet and peaceful in the morning and the screened porch was perfect for morning coffee as well as card playing in the afternoon and evening. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need and all linens were provided. We would definitely recommend this place---in fact, the kids have already asked if we could go back next year. Thanks Kent for all of your assistance!!

Wonderful family vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family chose this cabin mainly for its location on the river. My wife and I made the trip up a few months in advance to check the place out before renting. Kent was very gracious and allowed us to tour the place , everything was just as advertised. Many other rentals had granite countertops and giant walkin showers, but please believe me, you will never think of these things once you arrive at this place. Location is perfect for a family kayaking vacation. From Helen down to the bridge above the cabin is a peacefull float for paddlers of any experience level. From the bridge above the cabin down to Wildwood Outfitters adds just enough excitement for more experienced paddlers. I paddled the river 7 days straight. The view off porch is best on river, be ready to see plenty of kayaks spilled out. House has everything you need and everything works. Best description of property is heaven on earth. Thank you Kent for sharing your property with us for our family vacation. I hope there will be many more in the future. Wildwood Outfitters is about a 2-3 hour float down river, and they are amazing people as well. They will provide all you need to float the river if you dont have your own equipment. I highly reccommend you visit them if you stay here.

Porch is so awesome

  • 5 of 5

My family, wife, 2 sons, 2 daughter in laws, one grand daughter spent a wonderful holiday on the river. House is great, porch and outside are just awesome. Located on one of the best if not the best set of rapids on the river.

We just walked right up the trails and put in and floated down over and over.

The water in front of the cabin is perfect. You can walk across to the other side but you have to pay attention. And with the rock dam built you have a great swimming area for the little ones. My grand daughter is 3 and played right there and had a blast. Ladies laid in the lounge chairs in the water with her. Located close to everything, but we never left except to drive up river to the second bridge to float back down. That was a blast but took about 7 hrs. Just an FYI. Rope swings were great. My boys acted like teenagers on those things. The last thing they did before we left was ride them one last time. Owner is the best. Communicates great, texted me the day after check in just to make sure everything was ok. Deposit was returned very quick. Beds were comfortable, I did not even turn the TV on but I am sure it worked. Air Conditioning was perfect and it was hot outside. We did not use the bunk room but I made a point to check and see if it got hot or stuffy - It did not. It was cool and comfortable. I wanted to make sure for next year. I have another son and daughter in law that could not make this trip, but hopefully will next year.

The only thing I can think of that would have made it better is if you would sell it to me. Love it.

Perfect Family Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family rented this property for an after-Christmas getaway, and we could not have been happier with our stay. There were 7 of us, ranging in age from 20s to my 83 year-old grandmother, plus one small dog. There was plenty of room for all of us to lounge, sleep, and eat comfortably. The weather was not ideal for our stay (it rained a few days) but this actually gave us ample opportunity to fully enjoy the cabin and the screened-in porch. We drove into Helen on one of our good-weather days and also drove to Anna Ruby Falls. Both were maybe a 20-30 minute drive-not a bad drive at all from the cabin. We cooked most of our meals at the cabin, and found that the kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. Everything was perfectly clean and well-maintained, from the furniture to the beds to our linens. The views around the property are gorgeous-you just can't beat it. We loved playing games and watching football on the porch to the sounds of the river below. The guys in our group also enjoyed the gaming system upstairs during the rainy days. And the rope swing-SO FUN! If the weather had been better, we would have spent all of our time outside swinging! Kent was an excellent owner to work with, as well. He contacted me the day before our trip to make sure I didn't have any questions prior to our arrival. I think that my family will be back very soon to enjoy this property again-we all agreed that it was the perfect place for our trip!
