Amazing!!! feels like home.
This cabin is a must for any family or friends vacationing or just escaping to the mountains for a weekend. Not only is the cabin beyond clean it was very comfortable. With helen ga 20 mins away, there was plenty to see and do. Amazing wineries in the area too. By far this was the best cabin i have been to..and i travel a lot. :)) 2 thumbs up!!!
A Peaceful, Comfortable and perfect cabin for families!!!
The location of the cabin is beautiful and the river view is amazing. We went along with kids and they had lot of in the swing and also the fireplace. The cabin was clean and comfortable. We visited Anna Ruby Falls that was near by the cabin along with Helen. We spent most of the time in the cabin and it was awesome. The river water was cold but we managed to take some pictures. We would like to visit again during summer as well. Awesome stay. Thank you Kent for helping us through out our stay!
Beautiful view of the river from the house!
Three couples came up to enjoy the outdoors and attend Octoberfest in Helen! We had a great time. There are many hikes around for all levels of hikers. We also loved the time at the fest hall and picked up some apples fresh from the orchard. We spent time on the weekend watching football on the deck, passing time in the swings by the river, playing board games and generally loving time spent with our friends. The kitchen is small, but contains both regular coffee pot and Keurig, microwave, etc. The two decks are inviting and both offer great views. Very quiet at the end of a winding gravel road. Google did lead one of our parties astray, so please follow the directions from the owner. I would also bring a car that can take the gravel road. I considered bringing my sporty convertible for leaf watching but am glad I left it at home. All in all, a great weekend.
Great house with a river
This house became our refuge from Hurricane Irma. The house is three levels, all having a bathroom, and plenty of room for kids to have places to hang out separate for activities. The upstairs outdoor area is huge and a great gathering place for meals, playing games or having coffee. The lower deck was great too, with a hammock and outdoor furniture. The swings down by the river were so relaxing while watching the kids play in the river. There is a man made wading pool for those who don't want to be in the rapids. The sounds of water flowing over the rocks was so soothing and could be heard from the house.
You could reach town within a few miles with grocery stores, restaurants and lots of nature trails to other waterfalls and rivers. Everyone we meet are all so friendly and helpful. We took the kids (ages 3-11) to Babyland, and they loved the experience.
We visited Vogel State Park, one of our favorites and enjoyed the music and craft festival they were having on that Saturday!
The only downside was the road to the house for drivers not used to mountain terrain, and the other discomfort was Irma found us up there and there was no power for four days.
Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better location to pass the storm. The kids were never bored and it helped pass the time. The owner was very accommodating and generous with our group, allowing us to arrive before the check in date and made sure we had everything we needed. He was in contact with us throughout our stay.
I've stayed in better but they are over $1,000 per night
This house will not disappoint!! Simple and awesome. The porch and river are priceless ‼️
The property is just the right amount of remoteness yet close enough if needed. We stayed on the property the entire weekend and: enjoyed the site and sound of the river; view from the screened in porch; and, the swings. Kent was very good working with me because of some medical issues and was very responsive to every email and text. Highly recommend staying and enjoying the property.
2 rope swings are on the property. They can go very high, swing at own risk. PlayStation 2 in the loft. Bring your own PS2 games or dvd movies to watch. Kayaking outfitters run a shuttle service along our stretch of river, it is great for tubing, kayaking and playing in the river.
