About this property
In the courtyard of the old Château in Drôme provençale
"At Loubet" is a house with an area of 120 m2 which enjoys an exceptional location in the heart of the medieval village of La Garde-Adhemar ranked among the most beautiful villages in France. Completely renovated by an architect in 2014, the house combines the charm of old stones to more contemporary clean lines. It is located in the courtyard of the old Renaissance castle built in the sixteenth century by the Baron of La Garde Antoine Escalin destroyed after the Revolution but he still remains today the Tower overlooking the courtyard, the remains of walls enclosure and entrance porch.
The house is distributed on 3 levels.
The ground floor consists of a living room, which opens onto the courtyard and communicates with the kitchen facing south. A large sliding glass roof allows, according to the desires, to close or leave communicate these two spaces. The kitchen, which we were able to keep the massive original wooden floors, has a central island and is fully equipped with American fridge freezer, dishwasher, oven, induction hob, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave , toaster, kettle, extractor hood to outside evacuation ... and little culinary library available to our guests.
On the first floor, the living room offers one of the prettiest views of the courtyard and the remains of the tower of the old Castle. A sofa bed can help accommodate during your stay an additional guest. Since January 2017 a wood stove is now installed and you can enjoy your evenings by the fire.
The two bedrooms, the 1st and 2nd floors (with one for a private bathroom) for up to 4 people. They are each equipped with beds 160 x 200 cm, one of which can also be configured with two single beds.
Equipment and materials were carefully selected to ensure a quality stay: air conditioning, WiFi, TV, Hi-Fi Wireless (Sonos).
Sheets and towels are provided.

In the courtyard, tenants have access to a private parking spot.
They can also enjoy a large terrace of 40 m2, with unique view of the remains of the ancient castle tower along one of the ancient wall. The perfect place for lunch in the shade of mulberry trees or taste the sweetness of an evening.
The outdoor facilities (table and chairs, deck chairs ...) will be made available to our guests.
The mother of Olivier lives in the row house and benefits from the use of the courtyard outside the private terrace offered to our guests and will be present to meet any need. We will, if you wish, to offer advice and addresses in our region and its terroir (culture, gastronomy, heritage ...) to best prepare your stay. We respect your peace and privacy a priority.
The region
La Garde Adhemar is ranked one of the 100 "most beautiful villages in France", the charm and famous stamp. This ancient stronghold which dominates from its rocky outcrop, the Rhone Valley is strategically located at the gateway to Provence.
To enjoy the atmosphere of La Garde Adhemar, some not enough from home to join the beautiful village square in the shade of acacia trees, groceries and local produce, its bistro country ... and its bowls . The village will delight lovers of old stones, making them walk through cobbled alleyways and cobbled streets, a past still present: walls covered with ivy, silver cypress and olive trees, vaulted passageways, small restaurants, small squares out of time and below of St. Michael's church, the charming garden of medicinal and aromatic herbs today labeled "Remarkable garden".
A little further on, always walk, a path will lead you to the Valley of the Nymphs priory and chapel, a jewel of Provençal Romanesque art installed near the springs that irrigate the site. A timeless place where contemporary art lovers will also discover in an old and beautiful silk mill, the editions of prints and contemporary art gallery Éric Linard and its jazz festival in July, Les Nuits du Val Nymphs.
By taking the back roads that crisscross the lavender fields and olive groves, you can easily:
- radiate to the villages of the Drôme Provençale, visit the Romanesque cathedral of Saint Paul Trois Chateaux or Grignan Renaissance castle residence of the Marquise de Sevigne;
- browse the landscapes of vineyards Grignan-Les Adhemar, discover the land of the Truffle and the iconic, black olives of Nyons (PDO); taste the products of our region by browsing the aisles of our farmers markets;
- visit Orange and its ancient theater, Avignon and the Papal Enclave, Vaison-la-Romaine and the foothills of the legendary Mont Ventoux or the nature reserve of the Ardèche Gorges, the decorated cave of Pont d'Arc (Cave Chauvet) and extraordinary bestiary world heritage of UNESCO;
- enjoy the artistic and cultural events known in the region: the Avignon Festival, the festival correspondence Grignan, Chorégies of Orange, the Festival of Youth book to Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, Vaison and Dances a little further .. the MUCEM to Marseille (1:30), Uzes "city of art and history", the Pont du Gard and Le Carré d'art in Nimes (1h), the Confluence Museum in Lyon (1:40 ).
