The cottage was perfect for our long stay. The kitchen was well equipped and the primary bedroom was very comfortable. The host Mathieu was very welcoming and his coordinator Latifha was a pleasure to work with. Also, there is a donkey farm across the road and we had a great time feeding them. The town Sarlat is only a 6 minute drive so the place has a great location. The host Mathieu answered all my questions a timely mannerAnd we look forward to staying again in the future.

Nice gite in a rural setting just outside Sarlat La Caneda

I think the gite is a converted barn that belonged to the house at the bottom of the valley. The outlook is lovely across rolling hills and a few other nice places dotted around. We liked the donkeys in the field opposite, my husband kept feeding them! There is some traffic noise from a main road across the valley and there is the occasional car going to the hotel/ guesthouse at the bottom of the road. It didn’t bother us though. The accommodation is one large room downstairs with kitchen at one end, with the utility room and downstairs shower room bisected by the stairs with the living / dining room. It was cold so we used the fire. There are two bedrooms upstairs, we only use the main bedroom, the bed is large and comfortable. The floor is very creaky, being wooden, which was tedious at night if one of us got up, but tolerable. The bathroom upstairs has a macerating toilet which took some getting used to. The shower was good downstairs, we didn’t use the upstairs one. Irritatingly it took me almost the whole week to find the mugs which were in the plate cupboard rather than in the cup cupboard and there are only two large tumblers for a beer or my gin and tonic! Do a trip to the supermarket on your way in as there is nothing to eat in the gite ( often you get bread or milk) and who wants to go out again once you’ve got comfortable! We enjoyed our trip and would be happy to come again.

Das Haus ist an sich ok, verschwiegen wird im Inserat und von den Fotos nicht ersichtlich, daß die Terrasse direkt an der Zufahrtstraße zu den 150 m weiter liegenden Gites liegt, die von den Gästen dort befahren wird. Die Fahrzeuge fahren in einem Abstand von 1,50 m vorbei. Die Sauberkeit hat zu wünschen übrig gelassen, überall Spinnweben. Der geschirrspüler macht das geschirr nicht sauber, so dass man lieber mit der Hand spült. Von den angekündigten Personen, die die Übergabe machen sollten, war eine nicht erreichbar, die andere nach eigener Aussage abwesend. Offensichtlich handelt es sich um eine agentur, die bei dem Anruf, um die Abreise zu besprechen, erst einmal nicht wußte, um welches Objekt sich handelt. Insgesamt würde ich das haus nicht mehr mieten.

Au top

Maison propre et hyper bien équipée dans un cadre très calme. Quand on est à la recherche de « zénitude », c’est l’endroit parfait. Petite grange retapée en habitation avec très bon goût, mélange de modernité et d’ancien. Accueil agréable. Nous avons passé une semaine parfaite. Nous recommandons à 1000%!!

Jolie maison

Nous avons passé une bonne semaine, la maison est très mignonne. Le seul défaut c'est le gros vis à vis sur les chambres d'hôtes qu'on pensait pas aussi prêt du gîte. Et le gros point fort c'est la présence des ânes qu'on a adoré ainsi que les enfants.

A Good Location for Exploring the Area

The cottage is pretty and has charm One thing not clear from the description is that the cottage is immediately next to a lane which leads to some busy holiday properties. It is well equipped though we had to spend a lot of time clearing the dishwasher arms We thought the property needed a thoroughly good clean from top to bottom. There was also a problem with the septic tank which covered four days of our week's stay, which was over holiday weekend.

Très belle location authentique

L'accueil et le petit cadeau de bienvenue sont très appréciés. La location est conforme aux photos et la situation , en pleine nature, nous a beaucoup plu, et nous étions très proches de Sarlat, même à pied. Rien ne manque, la literie est confortable. Le feu ouvert, en octobre , a été apprécié, on a même eu la compagnie des ânes dans les prairies proches. On a envie de revenir, c'est sûr.

Excellent séjour dans cette bergerie typique très bien rénovée

Nous avons passé une très bonne semaine dans ce gîte très bien placé. Proche de Sarlat tout en étant au calme et avec une très belle vue. Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Laurence très sympathique. Malgré leur absence les propriétaires se sont assuré du bon déroulement de notre séjour. Gîte très bien équipé, tout est mis à disposition et même plus que dans bon nombres de locations. Les propositions de visites, activités, et bonnes adresses par les propriétaires sont très appréciables tellement la région est riche en découverte. Si nous revenons sur Sarlat nous réserverons à nouveau ce gîte sans aucunes hésitations.

Belle maison typique proche de Sarlat

Jolie maison typique proche de Sarlat. La présence d'une cheminée et d'un sèche-linge était appréciable durant la semaine de notre location, compte tenu du temps très changeant que nous avons eu. La maison est confortable et pratique. Un peu de bruit au loin de la voie rapide en contrebas mais le terrain est grand, la vue est belle et la présence d'animaux (ânes, un mouton et une chèvre) donne vraiment l'impression d'être au vert. Très bien placé pour les visites et accueil sympathique. Nous nous sommes régalés.

Situation idéale

A proximité de tous les sites environnants. Une belle terrasse ensoleillée dès le petit-déjeuner pour apprécier la nature. Chaque jour les ânes viennent nous rendre visite. Séjour très agréable.

Cost gite

This a lovely gite in a quiet area very close to Sarlat. It’s very well equipped with lots of charm and character but all mod cons too. Laurence the housekeeper is very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. She even hand drew a map of the immediate area for when we arrived! There’s so much to do and see in and around Sarlat, most places were still open at the end of October.

The Perfect Gite

This is the perfect gite for a holiday in Dordogne. It's conveniently located near Sarlat and all the other places one should visit in the area. It's well supplied with everything you'll need for a pleasant stay. We especially enjoyed eating outside at the table on the terrace.

This is a delightfully renovated honey coloured stone farm outbuilding a few minutes from Sarlat.

We spent two weeks here and wished it had been four. There has been a lot of thought given to ensuring everything is provided for a comfortable stay and it has! The kitchen is fully equipped and roomy and the living area spacious, comfortable and has a fully functional imposing stone fireplace which we used for cozy evenings. We used the main bedroom which is spacious and the bedding immaculate. Both bathrooms were impeccable and everything worked as it should! The Gite is surrounded by pastures overlooked by wooded hills and we spent many hours on the sheltered patio with pate, cheese & wine listening to the birds & soaking up the views & wine too! It is extremely peaceful but has good wifi & TV if you feel the need to catch up on the crazy outside world. The Dordogne & Vezere valleys are incredibly beautiful and varied with so much to see and do and Sarlat an interesting old town just minutes away - lots of tourists but then being one I can't complain. So thank you Celine & Mathieu for allowing us to enjoy your delightful Gite and also for all the useful information you provided including the hand drawn maps of local interests- very thoughtful. Also thanks to Madam Laurence Guerios who met us and made sure we knew where everything was - a gem & her English is much better than my French, a relief! Nous esperons revenir l'annee prochain a cet endroit pour un mois cette food! Merci encore

A very quaint well equipped property in a good location.

We had a great time staying at this gite. The area is bursting with things to do and this is a good place to base yourself while visiting the historic sites & beautiful countryside. The cottage is in a quiet location five minutes drive from Sarlat (where you can find everything you need for your stay) and 15 - 20 min from the Dordogne river. Lots to do & see. Wi-fi at the gite is good as is the mobile reception.
