Met our delightful hosts who showed us around. Building rather run down but the apartment was good. Very multi cultural area which we enjoyed.

Great location in Marseille

We arrived by train and it was an easy walk to meet the host at the property. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. We enjoyed being in the middle of the city and walking to all the areas of interest. The hosts were very helpful with advice on things to do and restaurants, etc.

Large apartment in a central location

Three adults stayed for 3 nights. The location was great and central to everything. Highly recommend for a family with teenagers or two couples.

A few days in Marseille

A great apartment within 10 minutes walking distance of the Vieux Port, right next to the tram and the metro station. Our hosts were very welcoming and informative. The apartment was spacious for the three of us and had everything we needed. We had a lovely few days in Marseille.

Beautiful place, great location

This unit is quite large and beautifully decorated. It has everything that you could possibly want and is walking distance to the port. It faces a courtyard so it is actually quiet and has no street noise. The owners are charming and were there to meet me when we arrived. This place is the perfect place to stay in Marseille.

A place not miss!

Great Location in the heart of Marseille (2minutes walk from Le Vieux Port). Has all the high standard of comfort, security and facilities of top class hotel! Fantastic access to public transport and tube as well as shops, local market and Patisserie (bakery!). Very friendly owner who will do anything to help you have an unforgettable stay in the city of sun! Not to miss!

Excellent apartment within walking distance of the Old Port.

The apartment was well equipped and well situated, very clean. The owners were extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful. The only problems were tempermental elevators but we could manage! We would go back anytime. A big thank you to the owners, Louise and Allan

Loved our stay

As someone else mentioned, this was the nicest apartment we've ever rented through VRBO. It was actually larger than the photos made it seem. And the location was perfect - almost all of the famous sights were within walking distance, as were hundreds of restaurants. Several bakeries and supermarkets were within a 5 minute walk. Overall, we were completely satisfied with both the apartment and its location. Highly recommended.

A gem

The apartment is within easy walking distance of most tourist destinations and well supplied with public transport options. It is clean, attractively furnished with good kitchen facilities and a quiet bedroom (I only used one bedroom). The air conditioning in the lounge is a welcome necessity in the heat of a Marseille summer. The host was friendly, helpful and always accessible by phone. I will return.

Enjoyable and convenient location.

Two couples stayed at this apartment, and thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Great location in Marseille, a short walk to the vieux port, the tram and metro right outside the door for easy access to many areas. Monoprix food store, boulangerie, and daily produce market across the street made it easy for shopping. Apartment was well furnished, kitchen had all that you would need, and great beds too. Also very quiet at night. Owner went out of his way to help us find the car rental location at the Gare St. Charles which was a short walk away too. Thanks a lot for your help!

Excellent location for us!

We found Emmanuel & his daughter Shereen to be very helpful in getting us settled in. We arrived on an evening flight so it was kind of late when we met up. The flat was just like the photos - spacious & outfitted nicely. The location was really good with excellent transportation to everywhere, plus walking distance to most "must see" areas of the city. We had a comfortable and carefree weeklong visit at Emmanuel's flat. We are 3 seniors working on our bucket list and we loved Marseille! Perfect location for a beautiful city!

We couldn't have asked for better! Superb hosts from the start. Our request to book the apartment was responded to immediately. All information provided quickly and efficiently, even though we booked last minute (two weeks before our holiday). And as if that wasn't enough, our host kindly met us at the train station and took us to the apartment, which is lovely and spacious and right in the heart of beautiful Marseille. Our hosts welcomed us so warmly and made us feel right at home. The location is ideal if you want to explore Marseille and surrounding areas, it's close to the main train station, shopping districts and Vieux Port. What more could you ask for. Thank you for making our holiday perfect. We shall be returning and will book again!

We were met by Shereen who took us to the apartment which was perfectly situated for local amenities, bars, restaurants and transport. She was very helpful and supplied us with maps and information about things to see and places to eat and spoke very good English although my Son spoke French I found this super helpful. The apartment was very well equipped if you needed to cook (I didn't, I was on holiday) so if we had needed to everything was there including a coffee percolator and air conditioning. Our favourite bar was Propaganda the staff were attentive and friendly. As for the places to eat there are plenty and reasonably priced. La Ferme did 3 courses for 24€ and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend staying here if you're thinking of visiting Marseille, we had a fabulous time.

Nice place, quiet, centrally located - a winner

We really liked this place, which worked well for our family- 2 of us and our teenagers. The owners were very helpful . Mr. Boutterin met us and helped us walk our luggage to the apartment, and with Mrs. Boutterin gave a thorough walk through of the apartment as well as tips about the area. When we had a minor issue, they were very responsive and the issue was resolved promptly. The apartment matched the photographs and description, so no surprises. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots and utensils. The kids add, "we really liked this place - it was very cosy." Recommended! A general tip: even though we paid through VRBO, the charge is considered foreign and subject to credit card foreign transaction fees. Use a card that doesn't charge those if you can.

Large welcoming space in a brilliant Marseille location

We were welcomed by the very friendly daughter of the owner. She gave us plenty of tourist information to set us up for the stay. We really appreciated the apartment for its large living kitchen/dining area and the cleanliness and comfort of the bathroom and bedroom areas. Everything has an original feel and is very imaginative in the apartment which however is also very functional. No lack of seating for sure as the 13 seater settee is very cosy! We had a comfy night's sleep each night. The apartment is fantastically located about 10 minutes from the port and close to all transport links so getting round Marseille was never a problem. We bought the 72 hour City Pass which was brilliant value for money even if we saw Marseille a bit frenetically as a result but it was worth it. There are so many highlights of this underrated tourist city! Notre-Dame de la Garde was perhaps THE highlight and perhaps worth doing separately from the tourist train to really get a good feel for it. The people are SO friendly and none more so than our Boutterin hosts who were charming and couldn't have been more helpful. We missed the Calanques trip due to a slightly rough sea so we have a great excuse to return to the marvellous city of Marseille and to our hosts!

Top Notch

We have stayed in many self-catering apartments across Europe and this must rank as one of the best that we have stayed in. From the location to the apartment itself to the hosts. First the location itself. You can use any of the three tram lines and any of the two metro lines to be within a 2 - 5 minute walk of the property. The Old Port is a short walk walk(5-7 mins) away. The main station(St Charles) is a 10 - 12 min walk away. Supermarkets and restaurants of varying levels are plentiful. The apartment itself is really beautiful, well appointed, clean and everything works with very good WiFi. The sofa in the picture is great, spacious enough for seven people, and encourages relaxation and stretching out in front of the huge TV. Finally, the Boutterin family are exceptional hosts. Their very lovely daughter checked us in and the parents checked us out. Although we didn't need to call them during our stay of twelve nights we knew that they were at the end of the line. All in all a very good choice of accommodation and many thanks to the hosts. We would highly recommend this apartment to any guests and definitely would return again on any return trip to Marseille. Outstanding apartment in the centre of Marseille

We have been visiting France every year for the last twelve (12) years, and we have stayed in more than fifty apartments all over France. We stayed in this apartment for two weeks last month (June 2016) and we consider it to be among the very best. It would be difficult to find a more central apartment in the heart of Marseille - it is a stone's throw from the famous Marche des Capucins, and a hundred meters from the Vieux Port (which is lined by restaurants) and the CBD shopping area (including Galeries La Fayette and Monoprix). Living on the other side of the world (Australia), we felt very much at home in this apartment which has excellent cooking facilities and a very comfortable lounge and bedroom. The apartment was even better than what is shown in the HomeAway website. Our husband-and-wife hosts made every effort to make us feel at home, not to mention their equally helpful and charming daughter. The apartment was very clean and all the facilities were in excellent working order. Emmanuel went to considerable trouble to pick us up and take us back to the railway station. On the day of our departure, Emmanuel even took an overnight train from Nantes to return to Marseille in order to meet with us, this despite the very heavy demands of his profession. We consider this apartment to be outstanding, we are very appreciative of our hosts, and we told Emmanuel that we are returning next year. - Ron and Tess (Canberra, Australia)
