Situated on a hilltop close to the medieval village of St Paul, the apartment has great charm, with old beams and lovely tiled floors. On the domaine is a large south-facing swimming pool and private covered parking. The beaches are just 20 minutes by car and Nice airport is a convenient 10-15 minute drive.
The historic and delightful village of St Paul, renowned for its art galleries and the famous Colombe d’Or restaurant, is within walking distance. The old town of Vence, just 3 km away, has many open-air restaurants, a shady cobbled central square, art galleries and a regular antiques market. Skiing in the Alps is just one hour’s drive away and, if you are looking for night-life, head for Nice or the bustling nearby town of Antibes.

As soon as we arrived at the apartment we knew we would have a fabulous holiday. It had been prepared for our arrival beautifully, it was spotless and the décor is so tasteful and welcoming that we immediately felt at home. With two bedrooms, both with ensuites, it's layout is perfectly suited for up to 2 couples on holiday together. And the views! From every window! It was hard to pull ourselves away. We spent as much time as possible on the balcony soaking up that provençal atmosphere, so lovely!
The apartment is the perfect base for travelling around the Côte D'Azur. We enjoyed the Monaco Grand Prix and trips to Monte Carlo, Nice, Antibes and of course St Paul de Vence itself with its wonderful cafés, restaurants and art galleries.
Jacqui and Martyn were very helpful before and throughout our holiday and with so much more to see and do in the area we will definitely return. We would highly recommend a stay at this gem of a place.
This apartment and its 360 degree views to St. Paul de Vence, the valley and the mediterranean, really excited us when we arrived. It is comfortable, more than well equipped, spotless and spacious with access to a beautiful pool. We found it a great base from which to explore the surrounding area, from gorges to beaches and all the culture of this area including so many fantastic restaurants within walking distance at St Paul together with its really interesting shops. Local food shopping is just 5 minutes drive. Booking is easy with the owners who answered all our queries and gave us confidence in booking. A very enjoyable week, we will certainly return.
We stayed at this holiday apartment last summer (2014). This year we visited Spain instead, and felt as missing the St. Paul de Vence and this particular lovely holiday home we had rented on previous summer.
This apartment has been one of the best rentals we have done. This such a homey, tidy, beautifully decorated and amazingly well kept apartment really made our holiday successful.
We recommend this apartment anytime, and miss cooking in its kitchen with magnificent views!
Wir sind ein deutsches Ehepaar und haben bereits zum zweiten Mal eine Ferienwoche in dem Apartment verbracht. Die Ferienwohnung ist gepflegt, liebevoll eingerichtet mit französischem Flair, geräumig und sauber. Sie liegt in der Domaine du Piol ganz oben über den anderen Gebäuden. Wenn man in der Küche etwas zubereitet und dreht sich um, hält man den Atem an bei solch einem Ausblick. Auch bei den anderen Fenstern und dem kleinen Balkon. Die Domaine ist schön mediterran bepflanzt mit Lavendel, Orangenbäumen, Olivenbäumen usw. Sie ist ein toller Ausgangspunkt für Auflüge in die Umgebung (fantastisch: Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild). Es gibt Zeiten, da hat man den Pool komplett für sich alleine. Auch die Vermieter Jacqui und Martyn sind sehr nett und entgegenkommend. Wir waren bestimmt nicht das letzte Mal dort!
This was our second stay in the apartment. The accomodation is very clean,well mainntained and spacious. The view from the balcony is breath-taking and as the apartment is located in the hills it provides a sea view. From the lounge and kitchen there is a splendid view of St.Paul de Vence which is certainly worth a visit and only a 5 minute drive from the apartment. The pool area provides a wonderful view of the surrounding hills. The pool itself is a good size and kept very clean. The property is secure and access is controlled by an electronic security gate.
On both visits, we found the owners to be very helpful, both before and during our stay when we presented one or two queries to them.
The apartment is ideally located; it is no more than a 15-20 minute drive from Nice airport and is well-placed for visits to Antibes, Grasse, Cannes, Monaco and Cap-Ferrat. Therer is a supermarket and boulangerie within close proximity.
We would not hesitate to stay here again and our family ( children aged 6 and 9) feels at home in the apartment. We strongly recommend the apartment to other families.
We have just returned and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this apartment. Very clean well fitted and secure gated location with stunning views. Lots of information provided by the owners for trips etc. Great location and base for exploring the region. A bit of an up hill track to ST Paul for dinner when walking but well worth it, and the walk is a lot easier on the way back.

The picturesque village of St Paul de Vence, renowned for its famous artists, including Picasso, Miró, Modigliani, Matisse and Chagall is a 15 minute stroll from the apartment. The walls of the famous Colombe d’Or restaurant are still adorned by their artworks (left here in lieu of payment by these once penniless clients of the hostelry’s founder, Paul Roux).
The village’s narrow, mediaeval lanes are lined with bougainvillea, jasmine and geraniums, and home to a multitude of artists’ studios and craft shops. The Café de la Place is the prime spot for watching the boules action over coffee and croissants. Bustling by day; calm and romantic at night, St Paul has been voted by many as the most beautiful village in the world.
