Most definitely would stay, again, at this delightful cabin. You can't put a price on the beauty and peace of the location. All the amenities were provided and location made everything very accessible for shopping etc. Communication with the owner was impeccable. Very clean and comfortable. We didn't want to leave but look forward to a return visit.

Thank you for the kind words, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for taking such great care of the cabin, we look forward to hosting again soon.
My wife and I had a very nice visit to the Spooner area and really enjoyed the cabin. It was a great location and was just what we were expecting from the pictures and descriptions. Caught quite a few fish off the dock. Plenty of things to do and places to eat in the area. Would definitely stay there again.
Wonderful little cabin on great, clean lake. Our family had a great time fishing, swimming and going on the lake on the canoe and paddle boat. Fast and easy communication with the host.

Thank you, we look forward to seeing you again next year
This was a great stay in a rustic cabin. We enjoyed the lake view, barbecued on a charcoal grill, roasted s’mores, and fished off the dock. Overall, a very peaceful and enjoyable experience. Will definitely return!

So glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to having you again next year!
This was a great place to stay and had everything that we needed. The layout of the cabin was just right and the accommodations were great! We caught a lot of fish was our main objective and the weather was great too! We had a lake front view with the fire pit facing the lake so that was cool! I want to go back next year to the same place!
The cabin was super clean and had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing family weekend! Owner was easy to communicate with. Cabin is traditional north woods but has updates and stylish touches.
Leonard's Cabin is a beautiful place to stay. My husband and I have been fishing on Spooner for many years and love the area. Jared couldn't have been nicer or more helpful as a host. Everything was top notch. Will definitely return.

It was a pleasure having you, and look forward to having you back
We had so much fun playing and relaxing....an original lakeside cabin, tucked away on a quiet area along the shore of Spooner Lake. We swam, paddled a canoe, kayaks and a paddle board - right from the backyard. When we weren’t in the water, we enjoyed hanging out in the sun porch and playing games in the yard. We will be back!
What a beautiful gem of a cabin! Everything about our stay was magical. Jared was great to work with! The cabin was clean and homey- your perfect up north cabin experience. The shoreline was sand and shallow- perfect for young swimmers. Everywhere we went fishing we caught panfish and bass. Super fun lake and beautiful and clean cabin. A true retreat from life. Downtown Spooner is super friendly and only 10 minutes away! Can’t wait to come back!

Thank you! It is always exciting to welcome new guests to our piece paradise.
We enjoyed our accommodations, except for the aggressive blue gills. We tried to swim but they came at us ferociously. That was disappointing, as we both love swimming and was looking forward to it. The peace and quiet was what we both needed. Thank you for opening your cozy cabin to us.
Washer and dryer are in another cabin and that needs to be opened for you if you are planning to use it. After it freezes that’s not available. Fireplace inside is decorative only. Wood for the outside fire pit is abundant, but, bring an axe.

Thank you for your review and comments. While we did state in the description that washer and dryer are in neighboring unit, and fire place is decorative only, we have decided to delete both details entirely as to clear up any confusion. Thank you again
Your cabin on Spooner Lake is just great! We love a cabin with history, and so well kept....those hardwood floors are gorgeous.
The screen porch facing the lake is the place to hang out :)
We were a bit disappointed that the dock was not yet in, but understand it was early in the season. The only other "negative" was we were not aware we would be sharing the property during our stay; the small cabin attached to the garage.
It was a really nice spot to get away from work, for sure!
Thank you!

Glad you thought the cabin was great, thank you for the feed back. Happy you are understanding of the dock, as it is difficult to get them in that early when we are still getting ice and snow the first week of May. I am sorry you felt there was a negative about your stay. We will try to include in our description that their is a shared parking area with the next door cabin. This has never been an issue prior as both cabins have their own property, dock, frontage, and yard, but we thank you for bringing it to our attention.
Very clean, precious cabin. I can see the history of this cabin and surrounding cabins, homes. Yes, it is the dog days of August, but the lake shore was Full of weeds. At the end of the very short dock, lake shore did look sandy, but almost impossible to access for older adults. The dock needed one or two more sections, plus a ladder. Kids and those who bring boats, might be able to access more easily. Quiet, private lot and surroundings. Loved the hummingbirds and the fresh flowers.

Communication with Jared was excellent. The property worked for 5 of us(3 adults and 2 kids) for us to go ATVing over Labor Day. It was super close to the main atv/utv trail. My brother arrived earlier than us and was not sure which property to go to(it is the one closer to the lake), since another house had the address number on it. We were able to park 2 trucks and a trailer in the driveway. It is a VERY quiet area and very peaceful and we enjoyed using the pedal boat that was included with our stay as well as our own kayaks. However, the pier is very short(as others stated) and it is very shallow and a very weedy lake, but other parts of the lake was not too bad, but the weeds tended to blow over to the north side where the cottage was.The internet worked great and we had no issues for using our phones or my son doing some gaming. The water pressure is not the strongest, but the water is hot.It was great weather for us and we didn't use the air conditioner in the queen bedroom, but it did get hot during the day when we were not there and there was not much air circulation, it would be unbearable during hot weather(more than mid 70's). The fire pit was so close to the lake(loved), but the outside chairs are broken and not very comfortable, so bring your own. The queen bed and the futon, not comfortable. Neighborhood friendly cat runs around the property. Bedrooms connected, no privacy. Older items(couch, pans, etc) in the property. Great for a group of guys
This cabin was the perfect place to spend 5 splendid days and nights on our honeymoon; as 2 widowed individuals [who had never met but only talked & texted] decided to get married 7 days after she got off the plane.
This cabin is beautiful and quaint! The cabin obviously has a long history on the lake being a log cabin. The setting on the shore of Spooner Lake is stunning!! The kitchen is well stocked with everything necessary to cook a meal for 2 or many more. The entertainment center was terrific as we had each brought favorite movies to share with the other. The location has a campfire ring which we used nearly every night. My Austrialian wife enjoyed the peace of watching the fire and holding hands on the bench beside the fire ring.
We highly recommend this property for its incredible natural beauty and all the comforts provided!

My family wanted to find a cabin to rent on Spooner Lake and we were so blessed to have found this one! Jared was always quick to respond to any and all questions and made check in so simple. He was there to greet us and go over the property with us. The lake home is beautiful and so comfortable! We all slept great in the beds. The cabin had everything we needed for cooking and relaxing. The beach / lake had sandy area for playing and swimming. We had tons of laughs watching our kids play while we relaxed floating on the lake. It truly was a wonderful week in this north woods paradise. We can’t wait to come back!
We really enjoyed the place, beds were comfy, it’s right on the water. The only downside is the air condoling is only in one bedroom, in the summer it gets very hot in the house. The owners were welcoming.

About the host

We love the ever-changing weather and scenery this area has to offer. We personally spend our family vacations camping on the local Namekagon River and exploring the many nature trails, waterfalls, parks, and campgrounds we are so blessed to have around us. Even a small wayside, can be a nice walk for the day when you are in Northern Wisconsin!
What makes this property unique
Because this property has been in my family for many generations, the added benefit is that we care about it greatly, we care about making it a great stay and a return stay like many of our guests.
