The cabin isn't large, but it is well-designed, and a great deal of effort went into the interior décor. The owner was right—the three nearby small towns are full of character and well worth a visit. Although I stayed for a week, it still felt too short. I didn't get a chance to go boating, fishing, or swimming, so I’ll make a wish to do those things next time.
I highly recommend! Dave and Karen are so kind and so easy to communicate with. The place place is clean. It's got everything you need. The bed is comfortable, pillows, Hot tub and fire pit are a huge bonus! So peaceful! This was my second visit. You can bring your pets!
Stayed for a week and let me tell ya, we didn't want to leave. Our bulldog loved roaming the trails also, very pet friendly! Beautiful tiny home with so much peace and adventure. Loved the hot tub for relaxing in the cooler evenings. Walked the trails hoping to see wild life we dont see in Ohio, we didnt but that didnt change anything. We will be back for another week stay!!. Dont hesitate to book this hide away tiny home.. 10 out of 10

Liked: Check-in, communication
Pros: The host was responsive and friendly, and the boat worked as expected.Cons: The house is much older and more rustic than it appears in the photos. The listing also makes it seem like the property is on the creek and lake, but it’s actually about a 5-minute drive away.Although the boat worked, it is older, and both the fish finder and radio were locked. Considering the boat rental costs 40 per day, I expected those amenities to be available. The listing states that the house sleeps four, but with only three of us, it still felt cramped. There is one queen bed and one very firm twin bed.We didn’t use the hot tub because the weather was too hot, and there were a lot of bugs. We were also surprised to learn that using the fire pit would cost an additional 20. This wasn’t mentioned in the listing or in any of the reviews. It was also unclear whether the fee was a one-time charge or a daily fee, as we stayed for two nights.

Please read our 5 star reviews. The tiny house was built 6 years ago and in excellent condition. Not "older" but decorated as a woodsy cabin. The property is large: 1800 feet of spring fed creek and 800 feet on the lake. The boat is a 5 minute trail walk (not drive). Firewood: $5 for your "whole stay". I taped pontoon switches this year as folks leave them on and battery drains. The booking info says: "sleeps 3", but we offer a cot JIC gratis. Tiny house: 520sf and first guest to say "too small". We are "responsive and friendly" but can't please all I guess (1 vs. 600 ). BTW: $40 a day for a boat, motor including gas ($15?) is too much? Oh well.... we love all. Dave and Karen
We’ve stayed in many pet friendly cabins, but the snow shoe cabin owned by Dave and Karen is pet-intentional. We were welcomed with all of the items essential for a dog, a soft bed, dog dishes, tie-outs, poop bags, designated trash bin, even a squeaky toy! Everything about this charming family style cabin is intentional and a gift from the hosts; from a large collection of games and books to cast iron pans and vintage crock pots, to hand sewn curtains and quilts. If you’ve never had a family cabin to make memories in, booking with this cabin brings you as close as you can get to it. We enjoyed our meals on the easy to use gas grill, and sat at the dining table overlooking a beautiful meadow that we saw fawn jumping in. The fire pit made for cozy nights with s'more's, star gazing and flickering from lightening bugs. The trails behind the cabin were well maintained and provide a beautiful songbird symphony from sun up to dusk and then the owls, frogs and cicadas take over. The lake was a very short walk from the cabin and there is a nice dock to fish off and enjoy beautiful sunsets. The new hot tub was a really nice treat to relax in. The small beach in Siren at Clear lake was refreshing and also dog-friendly. We visited the town of Frederick and plan to come back in the fall to kayak the rainbow and straight lake channels inside the glacial national forest, just outside of Luck, Wisconsin. A perfect vacation with very kind and gracious hosts!
We had an excellent time relaxing and playing here. The trails along the stream were really fun to walk the dogs through a few times a day. It was just as listed.
Our favorite weekend getaway! The cabin is so clean and cozy. We love getting the fresh air on walks and relaxing in the hot tub. It was our second time at the tiny home and will keep coming back - we love it!
We enjoyed our 2 night stay at this charming, cozy, pet friendly tiny home on quiet and scenic 20 acres with lake and walking trails. This was a lovely place to unwind, and we especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub, surrounded by the beauty of nature. Dave was a kind host, and we appreciated his hospitality. Thank you!
The property was beautiful and the stay was very relaxing and regenerative. the host was very friendly and helpful. We will stay again! Bring your dogs!
This was the second time my wife and I stayed at the Tiny House, and yet again it was a very peaceful and relaxing trip. There are plenty of activities to enjoy both at and nearby the property. We had a fantastic time!
This place is so nice and cozy. The hot tub is fun to sit in at night under the stars. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again. Thanks for hosting Dave and Karen

Why they chose this property
Karen and Dave have been building cabins in the woods of Canada for 42 years of their terrific 49 year marriage. This one is the result of his building and designing those and 17 houses and 2 churches. They have lived in the Canadian bush for many years as Dave did his business thing. Now you get the result of that experience. This property was picked because it is wild yet <1.5 hours from the Twin Cities and those incredible grandchildren. If you don't like the woods and a little roughing it (with a few high-end features) you'll miss the point of this very unique place in the Wisconsin outback.JIC we now have Internet and WiFI for your cell phone connection assurance.
What makes this property unique
You might be lucky to see one of our local friendly bears. They usually stay away too much to be seen but so far several of our guest have seen them walking through our property. Hike with Karen and our Golden Retriever, Cooper, to learn and experience more or get us to help you with the bonfire. You might hear some stories from decades of adventure and almost 50 years of marriage if invited ...OR just hole up and we'll leave you alone to create your adventures on this crafty use of a stunning site.
