About John Pastorius

Bear Path Lodge will sleep 8+. Mountain view from the front porch and a 7 person hot tub on the rear porch. (4 fat people!)

John Pastorius purchased this cabin in 2002

Why John Pastorius chose Sevierville

Our names are John and Janice Pastorius. We moved to Sevierville from Southwestern Pennsylvania in August of 2002 and purchased the Lodge. We own and operate the cabins so we don't charge the "fees" that other rental companies charge. The price we quote is for a group of 6 or less. If you call you won't be talking to a sales representative it will either be Janice or John.

What makes this cabin unique

Bear Path Lodge is located in the foothills of the Great Smokie Mountains. We are only minutes away from all the major attractions. Pigeon Forge is a 10 minute drive, Gatlinburg is 15 minutes away. We are located off State Route 416 in Richardson Cove so you don't have to deal with all the traffic on the parkway. There are several side roads to get you where you want to be.

Ok if you’re just looking for any place to lay your head.

  • 2 of 5

The advertisement only showed beds and kitchen and appliances. There was one old floor model TV with a few channels, antique rugs, towels mold spider webs and rodents were not mentioned. I tried calling the owner using my HomeAway app but I couldn’t reach him. So I sent an email by replying to the email the owner sent me with the subject line “Emergency” leaving my phone number in the message only to find out a few days later after meeting him that he didn’t get the email. At that time I mentioned all of my concerns and offered a few suggestions to changing out the carpet and updated the TV (offering more TV’s and a better selection of channels), and furniture. Also informed him of the black mold and rodents. He mentioned the humidity and the area as the excuse for it but I figured he can afford to make some changes to update the cabin with the amount I overpaid for it. We didn’t spend too much time in the cabin because of these issues and will do a little more research on our next cabin trip. I’m not recommending anyone to use or avoid this cabin all I’m gonna say is if you’re looking for a place to stay and don’t care about any of the things I mentioned earlier then this cabin may work for you but if you want a cabin with no foul odor, up to date furniture carpet, appliances and TV’s with a better selection of channels this may not be the place for you.
