Pioneer Mountain Cabins is a private getaway that provides modern accommodations while maintaining a traditional Montana cabin stay. Located in Melrose, Pioneer Mountain Cabins offers accommodations with a balcony and free WiFi.

Nestled near the world famous Big Hole River of Montana and the magnificent Pioneer Mountain Range, the Pioneer Mountain Cabins offer the best in country living. Located in the quiet country town of Melrose Montana, this area provides endless outdoor recreational activities for you and your family... whether it's a major family vacation or simply a weekend getaway. Available April through December, we have four cabins that are within a short walking distance to one of the best fishing spots on the Big Hole River. The fishing is world-class, and the wildlife is abundant... it just doesn't get better than that!

The Pioneer Mountain Range is made up of magnificent mountains that are rich in wildlife and scenic beauty. Moose, deer and elk are often spotted along the foothills, and occasionally you might even get a glimpse of a mountain lion or bear!

Each of our four cabins are equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave, AC, satellite TV, complete coffee service, bathroom, front porch, firepit and private deck. Two of the cabins have two private bedrooms with queen size beds, and the other two cabins have two private bedrooms with a queen size bed in one room and two twin beds in the other. Our cabins are wheel-chair accessible as well.

A terrific place to stay. Clean and comfortable. Close to the Bighole River, the Sunrise Flyshop and the Hitching Post restaurant and bar. A very friendly community and the host Susan is extremely welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Four days in Melrose, MT

Host had an in depth understanding of local area and was very friendly. Room was cleaned all but one night which was a nice touch. Only complaint would be the TV not working for half of stay and when it did, the resolution was fit to screen but definitely added to the bonding aspect of the trip. If you're looking for a true small town western experience with a great price then this is the place to be. Sunsets and scenery of Melrose are second to none. Definitely the place you want to be to find your inner peace.

Pioneer Cabins

The Pioneer Cabins are not fancy but are very clean, well maintained, and perfectly located for those wanting to explore the Big Hole river area. Beds were great and there is housekeeping service each day. Wow that was unexpected. Susan is a great communicator and very friendly. She even made the cabin available early for us on our second weekend so a sick colleague could rest the day in a nice cabin.

Pioneer Cabins

The Pioneer Cabins are located right next to the Big Hole river and are neat and clean. The host Susan Ovitt was wonderful. She communicated well and was even able to get our cabin ready early. The beds were great, had a small refrigerator and microwave and a full bath. Even had housekeeping service each day which was quite a surprise. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to Melrose.

Adorable little cabin!

This little cabin was perfect for us. It had everything we needed for our stopover in Melrose. It was also close to fishing spots for my husband, big plus! The locals were all so nice and welcoming…we will be back for sure.
